The system I ordered is done, and ready to pick up. So far, the process has gone fairly smoothly. Had a little trouble getting ahold of folks at Puget right after the new year, but I suspect that they were running a short staff (some of them went to CES I think), so it's excusable.
They have posted benchmarks for my new system. They are as follows:
PC Mark 05 Results:
System Score 6925
CPU Score 6654
Memory Score 5912
Video Score 16402
Hard Drive Score 5052
3D Mark 05 Results:
System Score 17667
CPU Score 12422.00
Here is my system configuration....
Motherboard: ASUS P5N-T Deluxe
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66 GHz) (will upgrade when new CPUs come out)
RAM: 4GB DDR2-800
Video: SLI - 2x XFX GForce 8800GTS - 512MB
Harddrive: WD Raptor 150 GB (SATA)
Power Supply: Seasonic 650 Watt
Bigfoot Killer NIC K1
My question is... do these benchmarks seem good for the system shown above? When I get on Futuremark's site, I see tons of system scores for 3DMark 05 that are up in the 35000 range. I realize that I didn't break the bank with this build, but I didn't exactly skimp either. With a SLI rig like this, I would have expected scores that are at least better than half of the best scores out there. What's up with this? Are the posted scores inflated some how, and unrealistic? Please give me some feedback on this. Thanks.
