Picked up a Samsung 216BW after my HP 21" panel developed a power supply problem and died.

At first I was like "Ughhh, this color is terrible, something out of a comic book." I tinkered with the settings and found something a little better. (Though I could not get color profiles to work, no matter what profile I loaded the colors remained the same.)

It was still rather odd looking, so I've been using it a couple weeks now, and to be honest I cannot tell the difference between this and my old HP panel which was a MVA/PVA (dont recall which).

I guess you simply get used to it after a while. Grayscale colors that appeared slightly "blue" again look gray to me, and the color uniformity problems due to viewing angle are also no longer apparent.

Dude, disassemble that sucker and check the capacitors....lots of power supply issues are a $5-$10 fix.

And if you don't want to do that, I'll buy that bad display for $25...

This one may be even simpler than that, as lateral pressure to the power cord "fixed" it so something is probably just loose.

But it has other damage and I definitely would not sell it to anyone. Funny story actually, I inherited from my ex's ex who died. He took poor care of all of his stuff and this had several vertical lines of ruined pixels where they were basically just rainbow colored like the panel had been cracked or something. Only reason I was using it was it was the only screen I managed to hold onto when my ex kicked me out, took everything, and moved.

No, my ex-girlfriends ex-husband died. Well, not ex-husband I guess. They never got divorced, she left him, he died. It's such a long dramatic story.
 
I've never understood the utter TN hate. I personally just don't see it.
 
I had a highly regarded VA panel (Viewsonic VX2025wm) before switching to a Gateway FHD2400 TN. I actually prefer the TN. I obviously wish I could have an IPS, but those are too expensive for the college budget.
