I have a Sceptre 24" with one frozen pixel that gets a bit annoying. Sceptre said they will not RMA without 3 pixels in a row being dead or frozen, or 5 scattered on the screen. Newegg stated it had to be 6 or more dead/frozen pixels.
I tried this jscreen fix to try and free it up but to no avail. My resolution is 1900x1200 when i run it and it's ran all day without fixing the issue.
The "pixel massaging" is not working at all and I'm worried I'll kill more pixels.
Any suggestions? Tips? Different solutions?
This is a beautiful monitor regardless, but one sky blue pixel can get very annoying while trying to watch a movie.

Sounds like you're out of luck. You're stuck with it.

The same thing happened to me on my last monitor purchase: I got a light blue 'pixel' stuck on. Go figure: my last two monitors and the several dozen LCDs at work have no dead pixels. Guess my luck ran out. Next time I'd probably buy online from a place with a dead-pixel guarantee option.

I feel your pain. I have a 24" Soyo with one dead pixel, and the js screenfix program from your link did not work. Massaging did not work either.

lol tell me about it, I just ordered a brand new Westinghouse 22 inch monitor form Newegg, and one very annoying white pixel is just stuck there on the left side. And I tried everything, and got nothing. I filled an RMA with newegg, and apperantly they gave me an RMA number adn everything, but I'm nto sure if then I will lose my rebate, or if they will just send me the same one back, or what.

But westinghouse was nice about it, they said that if it doesn't go away after running Jscreen fix for 10 hours, then they would warranty it, but ti's such a hassle, and I was hoping to enjoy my widescreen gaming and movies frenzy, after finals.

I took an entry level IT class at my local university because I'm not an IT major/minor and I needed a really really easy 1xxx level class for an elective (I'm a senior in Criminal Justice/Political Science)

Anyhow, they have Gateway Profile series computers. All-in-one LCD+PC units.

The workstation they assigned me to had several dead pixels and it annoyed the fire out of me. I wanted to drop the class because of it, I'm SERIOUS.

Just stop caring and you won't notice it. Given the dot-pitch of a 24", dead pixels are pretty hard to notice unless they're dead center. I just held onto my 2407 cause I didn't want to go through the hassle of a return cause of one pixel near a corner. The first month was agony cause I had to reconcile with having paid $700 for a "flawed" product. Got over it, now I don't care and rarely notice it.

Oh, and I tried massing it and the flashy programs: garbage.

The trick is not to look too closely, and not to shine a lamp into the display so that you start noticing small defects.

The more u look, the less you will like, and the more you will try to fix it, making a bad situation worse.

Yeah man, I think I'm gonna end up doing the same thing, I mean its not noticeable at all when watching a movie or playing a game. Only when I look at it on my desktop, it is like a blemish that won't "pop" LoL

Anyways, I mean what can you do at times like these right? It's luck, and when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Right. :D

I just sent my Macbook Pro out for a screen replacement because there were 2 stuck pixels right in the middle of the screen.

Now, they were only seen on red (they were black) and on white they were greyish, but no matter how much I rubbed it, ran screen fixes etc....nothing worked.

I'm sorry but a dead pixel is not something I can ignore, especially if it is anywhere near the center of the screen.

dead pixels do get horribly annoying. Do remember your talking about 1 out of 2 million three hundred and four thousand pixels. But I do agree, they really suck.

I have a stuck pixel on a 25.5" Planar PX2611w.. It's so tiny I have to put on a blank screen and stare to see it.. Maybe it's just a dead subpixel, or you guys just have extraordinary vision!

It's pretty weird. When you first find it, you worry about it so much that it actually looks big. I remember when I saw mine, it looked huge and I could pin point it everytime. Now, even on a white background, it takes me a while to find.

Pixel is almost dead center... It is slightly to the right and up... Try not noticing that while trying to watch a movie. It's horrible... I'll badger Newegg some more. I've spent over $12,000 in the last 5 years on that freakin' site. They should do more imo.

I don't think it works. If it's always the same color, how will flashing work when the pixel itself doesn't change colors?

that's what i said. ***UPDATE*** newegg said they'll refund my money, minus a 15% restocking fee. Wow... is newegg suddenly going the route of Dell.com? I sure hope not. I told them that their solution was unacceptable, they said "sorry for any inconvenience". I told them "that is a common response for companies that cannot deliver decent customer service..." They promptly ended the session. LOL... Yay! $400 on a 24" lcd with a frozen pixel. Gotta love the world we live in today!

What do you want them to say for sticking to their policy? Common seriously.... You can't hold newegg responsible for your dead pixel. The refund plus restocking is their "going the extra mile". They DO NOT cover dead or stuck pixels unless there are EIGHT or MORE. I'm sick of seeing people complain about things they should have known before they purchased the product. There are quite a few companies that offer a zero dead pixel policy, it's a lot easier to pick up locally as well. The restocking fee of Newegg is normal, why would they waive that?

Meh... I'm in a bit of a pessimistic mood today. I am not as upset with newegg as I am with the manufacturer. Newegg did try to go the extra mile and I took out my frustration on them. Regardless, I've learned my lesson and will spend the extra $$$ on a company/retailer that offerers a better warranty. Thanks for setting me straight joshua13! I have seen the light.

I agree Newegg's LCD policy SUCKS completely, and that dead/stuck pixel's suck as well. Especially when you pay hundreds of dollars. You as well as I expect to get a defect free product.. why not?

I just strongly dislike when a company is blamed for sticking to their policies, and/or going the extra mile by offering a refund. I would be upset too, but remember who's to blame.

I always buy lcd's locally because of this. You can see them in person to see if you like the screen and if there are dead pixels you can return it. One exception is dell.com, I don't know why you said they are bad, they are great. They have a 21 day satisfaction policy if you don't like it send it back for a full refund. When I got a stuck green pixel in the center of my screen they overnighted me a new monitor and paid to send the old one back. Their warranty is second to none also, had the usb ports die in my old 20" (3 years old) they overnighted me a refurb (which was new basically).
