"A clean, neat, and orderly work-place is a sure sign of a sick mind." (old Chinese proverb)

and there's another good one you won't like:

"Order is for idiots, genius can handle chaos."

Since I last posted, a few things have changed. I decided to go ahead and make a nice panoramic of my setup. Click the small preview for a MUCH higher resolution.

I am proud to say that that is likely the largest image in this thread. Can't even see that entire thing on three 30s. :)

Enjoy.

How do you get the taskbar to stretch across both LCDs? Are you using some sort of software or Vista naturally allows the use of the taskbar on both monitors?

I use a program called Ultramon u should try it out tis very good. It not only allows u to bring taskbar both side it also allows different backgroudns for each monitor.

Here is my setup with two recently acquired NEC 2090UXi displays. Sorry for the links but I'm not sure how to display the image instead of the link, can anyone help.

Nice setup! What type of stand do you have holding the laptop? I could really use one of those!

:O What type of keyboard is that and how much was it?

It is a Grandtec Virtually Indestructible Keyboard (Model # FLX-500U). I've had it for several years now and its been true to its claim of being indestructible, I wash it every few weeks. :D

I think it cost around 25 bucks.

No, I think it should be fine, I wash mine under gently running water every now and then to clean it, you just need to be careful not to puncture it with something sharp like a pen or something. I have two of these for a couple of years (one at home and one at work) and I've had no problems with them. Of course, I've never dropped soda or coffee on them ... :D

it doesnt look very comfortable...is that a good keyboard for typing up reports and long gaming sessions?

Sorry to be OT, but since my "professional student" reference generated some reaction, I should clarify --

somehow professional student reminds me of kings of comedy

Close . . . I'm a professor:eek: "Professional student" is a self-deprecating term we often use to describe ourselves -- if not a demeaning term used by some others (but apparently not all) to describe us.

P.S. I'm the one stacking my peripherals in the letter tray rack so that I could utlize more desk space for all the books and papers I use in front of my BenQ. Which I should get back to now . . .

Actually, I use some software called Ultramon. It works great, I ended up buying it I love it so much. Be sure to get the Beta one for Vista if you have Vista. :p

My setup (click for larger view):

P.S.
Ignore the large white box on the wall... I used to have a projector, but I have not repainted the wall. I am moving in 2 months, so it is hard to get overly concerned about it.

how do you all stretch the wide wallpapers on to two monitors??

So how do you like your westy so far?

I was wondering the same thing. It looks like a clean monitor and has some decent inputs I hear. Where did you get it and for how much. I'll be looking for a 24" soon.

also does it look like the stand is easily detachable?

I love having it. I picked it up on a best buy boxing day sale for $329+tax so it was by far cheaper than the other option I was looking at (benq 24")

Doesn't have a standalone DVI input so i'm waiting on the adapter to go DVI->HDMI, then I use the VGA for my 360 and the component for my ps2/psp (it actually has quite the decent scaler in it especially compared to VGA boxes I used in the past.

As far as the stand goes, it just clicks into it so I imagine taking it off is easy enough.

so i realize this is a NOOB question, and my apologies for asking, but when you post a message how are you guys able to display the actual picture and not the link. I tried a couple of things and didnt get it to work, plus there is nothing on FAQ about this topic.

Thanks for the help.

Very modest but it's all I got...I do have plans for a bigger monitor, up from 21" to maybe 24"-27". Or I might add a 32" LCD. I want to mount it to the back wall of the hutch and get the monitor up off the desk space and go with a wireless keyboard/mouse combo. My Klipsch 2.1 ProMedia's crapped out on me and I'm in need of a replacement. Maybe another set or the Logitech's.

Anyway, when I make the transition, I'll post new pics. Enjoy!

What mount is that? I'm looking for a nice, inexpensive mount for my dual 22s.

I got it from www.geeks.com for $50 shipped but I don't think they carry it anymore. In fact, I just checked and they do carry the same thing but in a four LCD configuration (weird, I'm sure a dual screen config is more popular).

Anyway, the only place you can get the LCD-194, as far as I know, is eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/Sherv-Dual-LCD-...ageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p1638.m118 It really is a great mount and great quality. I recommend going to a local store (hardware store or even something like WalMart) and picking up some black velcro "tape" to wrap around the pole to hide the wires -- it works very well!
