Thought it was hot....APC UPS/LCD

Good price OP

(((You may want to put the price and model number in the thread title next time though ;))))

just a FYI for anyone interested in this ups. I bought it like 8 months ago at circuit city for $169, and I have noticed it's now $20 more expensive which is kind of strange but not really all that great a deal unless you don't have to pay tax plus the free shipping.. Good unit

meh, my 2 1500va ones were about 240 shipped for both of them ;). the sale is long gone so link sorry ;)

APC make great UPS boxes.......I am still using mine with now almost 9 years of service on the original battery! Me and my mates all got one at the same time back in 99 and my unit is the only one that hasnt had to replace the battery.

Its worth it folks to have a few more mins to save your files in a blackout or the security to prevent a power surge.

Took the words right out of my mouth and for fun I checked with BB and they flat refused to price match saying it was a mistake.

CC is one of those companies you have to scan on a daily basis and from time to time you hit paydirt.

While on subject (for a change) go to APC's site and they have a special going on. UP TO 35% trade in value for your old UPS and they pay shipping on the trade in as wll.

Lest anyone think 1500 watts is too much it will power my Quad at 3.5 and monitor for about 15 min, maybe 20.

On the other hand it I have one on my 48" CRT RP TV, cable box, DVD, DVR and Receiver and that's good for a bit over an hour.:)

iirc, that's because CC sells a different model. RS vs. XS

I got a newegg email last night for a Cyberpower 1500va/900 for 150 after coupon code. I think it was 22 shipping though. LCD display model.

that i didnt know, had no idea there were different 1500 models, even though they look the same, thanks for the info

Yeah I saw that deal in the weekly New Egg flyer as well...

So is the APC better than the Cyberpower?

Warranty? Battery life?

This is still very expensive. I bought my APC 1500 VA UPS (tower version in beige/cream exterior) from Office Depot last winter for $50 AR.

Heh, me too except I got the black XS (it was quite an improvement from the 900vA that I got from CompUSA for $75 at a store closing). BUT, considering it was a one-timer and I haven't seen anything close since, I don't think it's fair to compare the OP's deal to that.

Damn, I didn't know OD had a black version as well for the same price. I would've much preferred that over the old school cream exterior.

This is the product I was referring to. It had a $100 instant rebate and $50 MIR. Since it wasn't a closeout deal, I wouldn't assume it was a 1-time deal.

Is this the same one you got?

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/APC-...163987/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do#availability

Shows 159.99. If I could get BB to pricematch I can use a 100 GC. hmmmmmmm

EDIT: I noticed the OP's link is for a BR1500LCD whereas CC and BB have a BX1500LCD. A quick google search showed the following:
The difference between BR and BX described in a previous review actually only applies to the non-LCD version. The LCD version of the both UPS are exactly the same with BX being a retail-only version, according to APC tech support. This can also be confirmed by checking the manual

just an FYI this should be on clearance on some BBY store also I got mine las november for $119 + 12% RZ membership card, check your local BBY if they are doing the same here is a link where i got if from
