The maximum price you'll pay is $50... Even at this price the deal is hot... Now lets turn up the heat a little bit more...

Officemax is having a sale thru the 29th on the Samsung ML-2510 monotone laser printer. I dunno if Officemax is open on 12/24, but if you do make it in, print this $10 coupon before you go. After the $10 off $40 purchase coupon, the printer is $40 plus tax. The coupon expires today, though, so act quickly.

Since this is not a clearance sale at Officemax, you may be able to price match it at other stores. A member of slickdeals reported having Circuit City price match it. Another member reported:
FYI, Staples WILL PM this by phone (@ 800-3STAPLE) and they have a $20ER for this as well, knocking it down to $29.99 (plus tax for some). Email came as I was talking to CSR for ER and finished it before she gave me total.

$52.55 (after PM and taxes) - $20 ER= $32.55

So depending on the method you use, the maximum price is $50. I used the $10 coupon at Officemax without any issues, making my total $40 plus tax. When I printed the page, though, I made sure to preview the page first and remove the URL of the webpage (to prevent a clever employee from seeing I didn't actually get the email). The replacement toner for the printer costs more than the printer itself if you use the Samsung refill... But Meritline has a replacement for $40. In the long run I believe this printer will save a lot of money. From my experiences with inkjet printers, they just burn through ink. Replacements cost $15 each and you need to buy 4 just to get the printer to work... I've had enough! Time to print almost all in laser (and save my inkjet for anything that requires color).

FWIW this was also a BF special at Staples. With the PMing opportunities this is a great chance to get a laser printer on the cheap

still only .023 cents a page which is good. I've had that printer for about a year now and it works very well. Much cheaper and better quality than ink jets if you can stand to lose the color. I used to be lucky if I would get a few hundred pages out of ink jets, now I get one of these cheaper lasers and 1 toner and then just replace the printer every couple of years.

I had one in the past and never had an issue with it. I was about to head to OfficeMax on Sunday morning 5 mins after I saw the ad in the paper, but cooler heads and logic prevailed - I called ahead to check stock, and the closest store to me sold out of 19 of them within 5 minutes of opening the doors. They checked stock in Vegas at the 7 other locations, all sold out within the first 15 mins of opening, over 85 printers. So much for that...

I'll check towards the end of the week and see if their stock is replenished before the sale ends on Saturday because I would like to get another one. Never had much use for color printing, and I have a cheapy $24 HP D1320 I grabbed at Wally World last year, but the color cartridges are $22, black is $19 - refills for them are $17 and $14 respectively, and the black is good for no more than maybe 200 pages of simple black text. Compare that with a toner cartridge that gives 2500-3500 pages on a full load - More than 10x as much printing for roughly 4-5x the cost of the ink/toner.

It's more cost effective on some many levels to get this thing, so I'll see how the money situation is and hopefully get one before it goes off sale. $70 is a helluva price drop for a good simplistic laser printer like this one. Highly recommended for basic printing...

Don't forget Circuit City and Staples both carry this printer. They have to PM it per company policies. If you plan to PM I would first try printing off the OM ML-2510 webpage and bringing that in. If they give you fluff about it being printed from the web, explain it's in the newspaper and offer to show them the online ad on Officemax's site. I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work. And if you happen to be dealing with a dousche employee at Circuit City I would take a cheap shot and be like "I guess crappy service like this is why your company is getting driven into the ground."

The proper way to do this is to go to Circuit City and buy the printer for $79.99 - it's on sale this week for that price. Then you wait a day or so, and then you return to Circuit City with the OM ad from the newspaper - they do NOT have to honor any price match from online, that's simply not how it works.

However, as long as the local competitor is selling it for a lower price and they have it in stock - that's the kicker here because they will call and ask the closest competitor's store - then Circuit City will refund the difference in price (that's $30) plus another 10% on top (another $3). So in the long run you end up getting the printer from Circuit City with a $3 savings, final cost $46.99 + taxes if applicable. The Price Match Guarantee thing is at this page.

It's simply not worth the bullshit and the hassles. Go to OfficeMax and get the damned printer for $49.95 and be done with it. :)

This is a really good deal for those [H]'ers looking for a laserjet printer. I was just going to purchase replacement toner for my samsung ml-1740, but saw this deal. Called staples up and price matched over the phone. The whole process was really easy. Total came out to a little over 53 bucks, including free shipping. On top of that, there was also a rebate available, brining the total down to about 43 bucks.

The toner for the 1740 would have cost this much 39.99+tax. So for the price of toner, get a free printer!

Here is a copy/paste from the confirnation email:

SAMSUNG ML-2510 LASER
Item No.: 649758 Price: $49.99/each

i've used one of these for quite a while... if you aren't printing out color, they are worth every penny. Our instructors all use powerpoint slides with smartboards and rather than printing stuff out in the crowded labs, i just printed mine out at home... took years before i needed to replace starter toner, and the replacements should offer alot more life.

Anyone have a valid $10 off coupon for OfficeMax out there?

I've still got a scx4100 that I've been refilling the toner on. Best investment ever. Just got the $100 color laser over black friday, but found out new samsungs have a chip. Still cheap to refill and buy a new chip, but way more expensive than just filling with toner.

I'm not positive, but I think these printers don't have the chip either. You'd probably be able to get 2-3 refills before the fuser kicks it. Absolute great deal.

Samsungs (at least my scx4100) does a pretty bad job at any sort of graphics but text is crisp

The "starter" toner is rated at 1,000 pages, as stated clearly in the manual for print yields. A full regular toner cartridge is rated for 3,000 pages, at 5% standard coverage.
