Supermicro AOC-SAT2-MV8 8-Port SATAII Controlers PCI-X

SOLD

I tried looking them up on newegg, but I was wondering what RAID setups they are capable of doing. I'm looking to making a 1TB RAID5 array, but I need a card that can do RAID5 (obviously), this would be a great deal if they did that, could you specify what RAID types they can use, all I have found is someone mentioned using it for RAID 1 and 0 but no official specs.

This is based on the Highpoint 1820 design, however, it does not have a bios chip for raid functions (hardware based), it can only do some raid functions software based.

This is more like a large controller rather than a raid hardware device.

here is a bump for ya....

It is "dumb" controller, ie, no hardware or semi-software raid options; this card is great for people who just need to plug lots of drives in JBOD, or for a software raid setup, fast and easy to install drivers on 2k3, and I believe Linux support is pretty good:)
