This is something I think I should probably know the answer to but...

I have my pc hooked to the my hdtv over DVI and optical. If I download something, I usually just play it on the pc and watch on the tv.

The problem is that I have a 16:10 (1680x1050) monitor and 16:9 hdtv (1920x1080). I either have a full screen image that is of the wrong ratio (looks horrible) or the correct ratio but with black bars on the top and bottom.

What I want to do is display the desktop in two resolutions while allowing video playback and hardware acceleration (that rules out UltraMon).

I'm starting to think this is not possible with one video card correct ? Is it possible with two ? I figured someone who was into HTPC would know this.

Thanks

I have a nvidia card and set up the two with dualview ( each is its own piece of the desktop). Then MPC can just be dragged over to your HDTV and set to full screen.

Yea, I've been playing around with it some and found that maybe that is the best way to go.

The only problem is I can't exactly see the TV when at the pc so I kinda have to guess where video is. Not that big of a deal really, just a minor inconvenience.

I may look into UltraMon's quick window switching features again. That would make it a lot easier.

Thanks
