Hey guys,

I'm looking for a good mouse program that will be able to handle AND allow me to customize the extra buttons on my VX revolution. It has been an on going nuisance that I'm finally fed up. The support for Mac mouse is terrible!

I'm aware of Steer Mouse, but I didn't think something as trivial as using a product I purchase requires ADDITIONAL software purchase to use! Logitech fails misserably in that department... Their software(setpoint) in Windows is awesome, yet their Mac support is just crappy.(at least last I check back in August or something)

Anywho, is there a free alternative out there that I don't know of?

Thanks

Ah, I edited my post up there.

I hope it's updated software, because the last time I got an OS X driver from them for the very same mouse, it wouldn't instal/detect any logitech hardware.

sorry for double posting, but just wanted to update...

Logitech Control Center from Logitech webpage posted 11/20/07... says "No Logitech Device Found" :(

EDIT: it works! Well, it seems that whilst using the trial version of steermouse, logitech control center doesn't recognize any logitech mouse.

ya the logitech thing didn't work for me for the first 2 weeks after I got my mouse, then out of no where one day it worked and has worked ever since ...

Forget logitech. the app is called Steermouse. its 30 bucks bucks but you can easily "get" it with a torrent. I use it myself and it is amazing. no setup required if you just want your mouse to behave and feel the same as it did in windows. thumb buttons for back/forward in any web browser. Now I cant imagine what it was like without it

Buy a Kensington Expert Mouse. Its a fully programmable Track Ball. Once you use one you'll wonder how you lived your life this long without it.
