Synergy isn't always useful in all situations. Whereas I agree it is useful if you have one machine that will always be on whenever the others are, then yes it is useful. However if you don't have that, it's pretty useless.

I find synergy can be a bit buggy for gaming. In a lot of games the input will suddenly be split over both systems as synergy gets confused for some reason. Mouse still goes to the client but all keyboard input goes to the server and the only way to fix it is to plug an external keyboard into the client, kill synergy and start up synergy again. Very annoying - particularly in games like Dark Messiah or Bioshock. :|

There's an easy fix without ditching synergy. Lock the mouse to a screen and use a toggle to switch. It works fine for me in every game I've ever played.

I already do. The games would be unplayable without locking the screen - this is a different issue from what I can gather on the synergy forums. As I said the keyboard input goes to one box and the mouse to the other and its impossible to get them to sync back up to one system without killing and restarting synergy.

It happens seemingly at random in certain games - usually at the right moment to get me killed. Games that input seems to get confused in that I can remember off the top of my head: Gothic 2 Gold, Dark Messiah, Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, and BioShock. Yet other games I've managed to play through without it ever happening such as NWN2 and MoTB, Jade Empire, and it hasn't happen in The Witcher ...yet.

that's the infamous COSMOS--well maybe not so famous or well known but it's a nice big case nevertheless. You have to put a hole in it yourself if you want the added vents. Other than that, what you see is what you get.

Thanks!

I haven't played all of those, but I have played Bioshock, and mine worked just fine in that. Guess it's just a random issue.

Hay Raikiri, do you use that 360 controller as a gamepad for your computer, or do you have an X-box sitting around there somewhere?

Not a big gamer here but just thought I'd throw my vote in for Synergy here as well.... I really can't believe I used to actually have three keyboards and mice on my desk...

It may not be perfect, but it works very well and suits my needs perfectly.

Both, Xbox is just to the right on top of my v1200 :) Although I rarely use it for PC as I prefer the KB/Mouse set up for most games.

i love your simple and clean setup. too bad they don't have that lcd here in the states.

those speakers are beautiful looking too.

Thanks :D

Yeah, it's a shame about the monitor not being available although relatively we still get ripped off over here...

For example the Dell 27" screen is $1300 over here and under $1000 in the US and the 2407 is $850 compared to $650 etc. :(

So we deserve a bargain once in a while :p

New screen :D

It's a DGM 24"... however unlike other budget monitors it uses a VA based panel (similar to that in the Dell 24" and BenQ 24", possibly the same one).

got any more photos of it Raikiri?

and whats it like on 1680x1050 Resolution?

Yep I do...

Scaling on it is great with 16:10 resolutions so 1680x1050 looks brilliant, 4:3 look good as well. In the following pics the Crysis one is at 1680x1050.

Finally the viewing angles.

jesus what monitor is that its fucking amazing.

DGM L-2442W. He states this a few posts up.

TridenT_Boy3555: most likely a trailer since bootleg 1080p movies are quite uncommon when the movie isn't even out on DVD. ;)

Wow. My entire life just changed. monitors turn any computer into something amazing. I love it. I got two brand new LG L246WP 24 inch monitors to replace my old Samsung 19 inch.

Other stuff in the picture included the new G15 Keyboard, the MX Revolution Mouse, Sony MDR V300 Headphones, Nintendo Wii, and Logitech X-230 speakers for now. Getting the Z5500s soon though.

GCTonyHawk:

How do you hook your Wii up to the LG? I've got component a/v out to my receiver, then a component vid cable from receiver to the LG, but 480p looks "worse" than 480i.

I actually have a capture card, small MSI one, that I use to hook up my Wii over S-Video. It is nice being able to record.
