XFX 8800GT 512MB $187 Shipped

Ends up being 250 after taxes...

I'll just buy something on newegg.

I agree.

OP's deal doesn't ship till Dec 12th or so...

....I may as well either wait till the 2 BFG 8800 GT cards I got on $250 rainchecks comes in at Best Buy or a sub $200 deal comes along for a reputable card with lifetime warranty. Step ups are nice but I'm saving mine for when there is a huge leap in tech between generations.

This card just came out, you think a new card will come out in 90 days? I doubt it.

Yeah, no kidding. And if a new car DOES come out, it will be outragiously expensive and back ordered for months, just like this one!

why the hell is dell charging taxes for internet purchases now??

also anyone have any dell coupon codes since paypal isnt working for them anymore?

i'd be willing to bet that the card manufacturers know when nVidia is releasing the 9800 chip, and they would factor that into any marketing/promotion decisions they made to incent folks to buy 8800 series cards in Q4.

i bit, mine says est ship 12/11
doesnt matter to me EVGA or XFX

the cards are all made by nvidia. you can see the damn stamp in the back.

stepup is retarded.
you might as well keep you current card, sell it later on the BST and buy a new card.

the fact evga sell the new cards at MSRP, $$$. msrp is very high on new cards. the difference you pay is big.

i wouldnt wait to buy from egg anyways. they never have it in stock. and they are all marked up.

edit- anyone have info from PP about these orders?
as dell has made there 20% ad cryptic and hidden.
i need to know if i should cancel..

i think i should just cancel my order.
i dont even enough confidence in pp to back their claims on the offer.

true, paypal has let me down a couple of times already, how does one cancel an order from dell, do i just send them an email with my information, or do I call in and hope that I don't have to wait 20 minutes to talk to someone who can't even speak english? is there a link that I can click to just cancel my order manually ?

You either call them or use their Live Chat.

Success rates differ on them.
As for an easy click-a-link to cancel an order, one does not exist, for some dumb reason.

crap deal dead, can't pay with paypal for the card anymore, when you try to pay with paypal it comes back with this msg " We're sorry, PayPal is unavailable at this time. Please select another payment method."

Newegg and Dell both are off from the Paypal list, so be aware before you order.

The MSI is back in stock at Dell for $207
Still says 1-2 weeks to ship though.

I got my order through using Paypal at 7:00 pm CST. At the time, Dell was listed on the slider as part of the Paypal Holiday Promotion. I should be covered, right?

For what it's worth, I emailed Dell Customer Service asking about the Paypal 20% promo, and the guy got it confused with the instant savings already taken at the Dell.com page.

hope get ready stock soon... can't wait
come on DELL ... or may be DELL happy with the delay, more people cancel, more stock DELL could sell higher price on later on ?

I'm glad I got the MSI without rebates. I jumped on newegg to get a E4400 when they had an instant $20 rebate by buying with paypal.

Newegg was advertising the Paypal promo through November 28th and Dell was on the slider with the end date of December 10th. I held out a day waiting on my check and Im gonna be pissed if they stopped it before the advertised promotional end date. If nothing else maybe I can raise a stink with them since it was advertised as still active.

Nice, and I want a second for SLI, but Im not buying another until they start implementing the SPDIF-HDMI audio passthru for my HDTV. It is in the reference design, but noone has populated the components and added the driver support yet.

You want your video card to do audio output as well?

I ordered mine yesterday 11/26 and I think Dell was still listed on the paypal promotional site then. I really hope they honor it.

When are we supposed to get the PayPal refund anyways? Also, has anyone confirmed it still works? Update please :)

Thanks

According to the Paypal promo terms and conditions, the cash back will be deposited into Paypal accounts by Jan 31, 2008.

Since they dont charge it until it actually ships, will it be too late to qualify if they send it out on the 12th (promo ends the 10th doesnt it?)

this is for Alaska delivery to Fairbanks... so if I get 50 back it will be 435.36 / 2 = 217.68 each! not a bad deal due to the fact that PCClub canceled my order for two 8600GTS this morning! ordered them at 69.99 each and was looking forward to my first SLI build... so I bit the bullet and bought these instead! and I LOVE my 8600 GT XFX in my shuttle box!

offer is only available as long as the merchant’s website indicates that the 20% cash back promotion is offered
The merchants participating in the offer are: Barnes & Noble.... Dell..

So.. can someone clarify?
The 20% off doesn't apply to this deal anymore, right?

Ahh its so confusing. It goes back and forth. Has anyone contacted Dell and found out FOR SURE?

I canceled my order via email and it has been refunded back into my Paypal account. Regardless of the 20% discount or not, I didn't want to deal with potentially not shipping until late December or early January.

No, what I want is for the board to implement the HDMI/audio pass through that exists in the reference design. The point being, you hook it up to your HDTV with DVI/HDMI dongle, and the audio (from your systems SPDIF output) gets passed along to the TV through HDMI.... like it is supposed to.

All GT's have the spot on the board for the SPDIF connection.... next to the SLI bridge... but noone is implementing it yet. Very annoying.

Yes, all newer ATI cards include this function HD2900-beyond.

It's over.

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
