I freakin work there and will be using this. Mario party on the DS ftw!
 
I went in earlier today, full well knowing I'd have some kind of issue.

Grabbed Crysis for the PC.
Walked up to the cashier (happens to be an old schoolmate)
We chatted - and he scans the coupon
The coupon gives a $0.00 reduction
I go "Really, it's not scanning right?"
He reads it over - and keys it in manually.


I walk out with Crysis for $29.99
 
PC games ARE video games. I mean like you would call COD4 for PC a PC game but COD4 for PS3 a video game? Pfft!!! THIS WORLD!
 
I'm not putting up with any of their shit at the register tomorrow.

I'm walking outta there with Tiberium Wars for $30. ...Dammit.
 
FYI if you aren't a RewardZone member, you can sign up fast and free at MyRewardZone.com - it doesn't get TOO personal and takes maybe 5 minutes, then you get an account and can print your card if you wish (otherwise they can look you up at the register).

If you already made the purchase and they did NOT honor your coupon, you can enter it as a missed purchase on MyRewardZone.com and they'll at least add it to your points count.
 
Thanks OP. Just got UT3 for $40. Had to wait for mgr to overide, but was well woth it. Thinking about going back to pick up Crysis.
 
Worked for me with Crysis, thanks. They couldn't get the coupon to work but the manager came over and subtracted the $10:)
 
they gave me a hard time too for crysis..

BB peon: "well sir, we consider this to be SOFTWARE"

me: "the coupon clearly says $10 off video games, this right here (crysis) is a video game and nothing in the fine print stipulates it is for console games only"

then I had them bring the manager out and I explained that to him again, and he grudgingly let me have it.. my local BB is like a prude catholic school girl, I can never get them to put out!! but I finally did this time.. $30 crysis works for me :D
 
sweet this makes my horrible experience at circuit city disppear, gonna get crysis tomorrow.

Didn't work out so well.
The cashier ended up calling the manager over. The manager gave me some shit about a PC game not being a video game. I told him that since on the cupon it did not say "excludes PC games" or anything like that he should give me my dicount. We argued for several minutes and then he kindly showed me the door and asked me not to return. :mad:
 
Damn, sounds like too much trouble. Ended up ordering Crysis from amazon @ 39.99 no tax. Are people having the same problems with any PC game? I still need to get UT3 :D

If you got his name, call 1-888-bestbuy. Let them know what happened, who treated you that way, and at what store. They can directly call the store and resolve your issue. I've had good luck with it.
 
The two best buy's here must be full of idiots. They've applied coupons to things that they don't work on and after they've expired, without my asking (or saying) anything.
 
Got mine to work. Took home Mass Effect, can't start playing it until my Organic Chemistry test is done on Wednesday. Otherwise I would fail surely :)

Just used this coupon in Portland, Oregon to get Crysis. Coupon didn't scan at first, but manager came over and did the override thing without issue. I'm guessing the manager had never seen this coupon before because he read it a few times and shrugged with a smile.
 
Picked up crysis today as well. It wouldn't scan, but they ended up entering it manually without a fuss.
 
Ya, it worked for me, you just need a manager override. If they give you any shit about it not being a "video game", politely point out the fact that on bestbuy.com PC Games are listed as a Video Game sub-section. If that doesn't work, ask them, "Who's your boss?" and start going up the chain of command. Remember to do it politely and not yell, you will get further :p
 
Bought Crysis for 30 bucks yesterday. No problems or questions asked even though the cashier had to do a manual override.
 
Worked fine for buying Unreal today. Cashier didnt even question the coupon just had to do an override.

As others said, the coupon didn't scan, they called a manager over and she ok'd it.

I was about to go on a rant about how the pc games are located under the huge sign 'VIDEO GAMES' in thier store, along with the fact that the coupon does not restrict the type, but she didn't make me bust that out =)

Yeah me too!!

I was all prepared and shit to say like its a video game..its says it on the game...
But the guy just overided it and I got crysis for $30!
