I mostly play FPS games, so mouse/keyboard is all I usually need. But, now and then, I like to play driving games, and I've been thinking about some flight sims. My Sidewinder seems to have outlived it's usefulness.

What's good?

both the triggers on the 360 controller are on the same axis though. so you cant brake and throttle at the same time... :p

xbox360 controller has won multiple awards for the best controller ever, and multiple awards, since it PC compatible, for being the best PC controller ever. Google search it.

The 360 controller is quite nice.

While the 360 controller is nice, it's analog sticks don't work with every game on the market. Because it has the two analog triggers, some games will see those as the analog function and therefore your sticks don't work.
It's still the best controller if you only have one, but it's not perfect. If you have the option of a back-up, go with the Nyko Airflo.

Just putting in another vote for the 360 controller. And if you've already got a 360, then just pick up the wireless adapter and save yourself $20.

I gotta agree with the 360 controller. If you have issues with that though maybe a playstation 2 controller and a usb adapter for it. Those are what I use to use.

Another vote for the 360 pad. It's really a no-brainer, unless for some odd reason you think the PS2 controller style is remotely comfortable in which case you should go with the Logitech Rumblepad 2.
