- Every VRM document released by Intel (I've read all of 'em from VRM 8.3) supposes the use of OSCON (Organic semi-conductor) caps in the reference VRM design. Likewise with AMD.
- The key parameter when it comes to input capacitors is the ability to withstand high ripple current and low ESR over a wide frequency range. OSCON's are excellent for this purpose because they satisfy almost all the useful, important criteria.
- You may wonder if it is safe to replace a 6.3V 1500 uF generic cap with an OS-CON. Absolutely! Consider a generic motherboard. The reason a 6.3V 1500uF cap was used instead of an OS-CON is because a) the requisite low ESR and high ripple current rating is available only at that voltage and above ; b) It is probably 100% cheaper.
- I accept paypal, personal checks and USPS MO's.
- For small quantities, the buyer can send me a self addressed, stamped envelope.
- For larger quantities talk to me and we will work out shipping.
- I can ship outside the US providing the buyer pays for shipping and does his/her research on customs policies of their respective countries. Remember, once the package leaves the US, I have no control over what happens.
