DFI Infinity P965 and Shuttle G31 SFF @ Newegg

I still like some of the P965 based boards, they have held up extremely well, my gigabyte DS3 is still going strong, the DFI seems just as good.

I paid like double when that board first released.

Yeah, a few new chipsets will do that. But they didn't bring any really huge improvements, so this is still a solid overclocking choice...and now a reasonably cheap one. But I'm not sure it's going to "support" Penryn.

DFi seems to be pretty good with bios releases though right?
I wouldnt recommend someone to buy this for penryn, specifically but keep an eye out for new bioses...

what does a "microcode" update mean?
just optimizations?

Microcode = microcomputer code = code for your PC. Same thing Microsoft means, basically. So that sentence means "the BIOS update has a BIOS update," more or less.

The IP35 pro is a better board especially since it uses the newer P32 chipset. However for the price the DFI is a good for a budget system.
