I am doing a step-up from an 8800gts 320mb to an 8800GT. I couldn't find the 6 pin power adapter and a DVI adapter, so I emailed Joe who put his email up here for anyone who had questions. I asked what sort of financial penalty I would have for not including the two pieces. I then read in the Terms that any missing pieces would result in a 15% reduction of the original price. Luckily, I found the cable/adapter and sent the card out yesterday.

So why does EVGA kick ass? I got this email from them (Mike Fierheller) yesterday morning while I was out shipping the card:

Hello,

If you have everything else except the 6-pin power connector and the DVI adapters I will approve for you to send in your Step-up without these items at no loss to you for your Step-up. We appreciate your business and don’t want to cause any issues with minor items missing. If you have any further questions, please let me know and I will be glad to help out.

Thank you,

First of all, their terms are provided clearly in writing, and they went above and beyond what was agreed upon when I clicked "I Agree." As far as I'm concerned, this is a fairly rare occurance these days, especially with large technology-based companies.

If you have doubts about EVGA's integrity or their step-up program, maybe this post will help dispel those doubts. Just thought I'd share a positive experience I had with you all.

EVGA is awesome. I plan on getting another 8800GT from them in the future for some SLI greatness. :D

Yeah, eVGA is pretty good - I've seen cases where they've let thing slide for stuff that wasn't normally covered under warranty.

EVGA processed my order today, and lo and behold they have surprised me yet again.

My videocard was to be shipped via USPS International Priority. Estimated time for such shipping is 6-10 days, which kinda sucked but it's all I can really afford.

So while looking over the notification they sent me, I see that it is not shipped via USPS but through Fedex. At first I wasn't sure if this was good or not, but then I see this:

Ship date: Nov 20
Estimated TOA: Nov 22

EVGA has really outdone themselves. I will have my card by the end of the week, and will be able to use my comp again... for homework of course.

Cool.

It's a company to be excited about. If they were public I'd invest in their stock.

Yes, I'm also impressed by their superior customer service. When I first bought my eVGA 8800GT KO, I found out, to my big disappointment, that it would NOT work on my VIA PT880Pro-based ASRock 775Dual-VSTA. The reason was that the 775Dual-VSTA does not support the newer PCIE 2.0 specification.

When I contacted eVGA about this problem and asked for a custom BIOS that would convert my 8800GT KO to a GEN1 card, they sent me the file and also noted that IT WILL NOT VOID MY WARRANTY~~!!

This was my first experience with an eVGA product and I'm impressed!!

Yeah, the rep they have is basically the sole reason I got an EVGA 8800GT.

Now let's just keep our fingers crossed...I remember there was that GTS debacle last year, when so many people had to RMA (I forget why) but EVGA came through. I followed that because I was trying to decide between a 7800 or 1900xt, and stupidly went Red. I also bought Sapphire cuz my 9500pro was a great card, and it worked for years fine. But this 1900xt was an overheating, artifacting POS...

No, MSI at least does make both nVidia and ATi graphics cards (as well as both Intel and AMD motherboards). I believe Gigabyte does the same, though I am not so sure about that one. I imagine that AIB partners that partner with just one get preferential treatment though, hence why almost all the rest of them pick a side and stick with it.

Asus do both too right? I just got a replacement for my 8800GTX (they gave me a 8800UltraSC for free instead) from my local retailer I had to choose between BFG and eVGA, although I've had BFG for the longest time, I picked eVGA between the 2, as they are in the same county i live in plus TechSup is awesome!!

I just hope that eVGA will CONSISTENTLY do well--both in the products they sell and the customer service they show. Consistent is something hard to find both in people and in businesses.

So far, my favorite tech retailers are Fry's, Newegg, eVGA, BFG, and Antares Digital.

EVGA strives their best to satisfy the customer by all means possible. Please remember that i am here and will do my best to help. ;)

We always appreciate your continued support of the EVGA brand.

I am so glad I went with evga for my graphics card and motherboard... my sig will pretty much explain it. It's really good that evga goes so for for it's customers because they know that it's the customer that makes them their money and they know that a happy customer will be a customer for life. It especially good when they make customers like me happy because I am a system builder and I have been specing out parts for many people (I just speced out 3 different systems already) and in each build there is always an evga graphics card and motherboard, this level of customer service not only makes them look good but makes me look by association because if one of my clients has problems with the video card or motherboard and I can't fix it then I know evga will be able to help me out and in the long run, this gives my clients confidence to do business with me (and I with EVGA).

As I've said before keep up the good work EVGA, you've come a long way and I expect a lot more exciting and quality products from a great company as yourselves.

My current EVGA card is a rock, it has taken alot of abuse on the part of its careless owner, gotta love the quality of their products as well... I almost did the step up and I am kind of regretting not going through with it now but it seemed like all of the best cards were not available for step up when I looked into it.

I am also one who despises poor customer service and don't mind paying extra to those who treat me with respect. Which is why I bought an eVGA card after hearing all the good things people say about them.

and that is why i choose eVGA,got a question for RMA's is the warehouse different from your brea, ca office when doing RMA?i was thinking can i just drop it off and pick-up the replacement??heheheh

heh heh, i'll be saying the same thing if evga manages to process and ship my card out to canada before the us thanksgiving shutdown takes over.

they received it yesterday morning and no action yet.

/gettin impatient, using 7600s :D

My RMA experience with them has been top-notch, too. They are my first choice graphics card company.

It's a company to be excited about. If they were public I'd invest in their stock.

If they were public they'd probably suck.

FWIW my last 3 cards have been eVGA (and my brother's last 2) and we've both been very pleased with the parts as well as eVGA's service.

Yes, our wherehouse is in a different location from our offices. But i will find out what can be done.

Yep eVGA is the best. I want to buy one of their 8800GTs sooo bad, but I'm short on cash :(. Damn you college.

i just sent in my 8800GTS for an 8800GT step-up as well. i forgot my power adapter...i hope they're lenient with me too :D

My first eVGA product was a 6800GT, they were nice when it died and gave me a 7800GS, today i have their 8800GTS. eVGA is the shit.

Just received word that my Step-Up 8800GT was shipped today. Pretty quick turn around time seeing as they only got my card the previous day. :D

The 8800GT is the third EVGA product I've owned and never had an issue with any one of them. I've previously owned a 5900 Ultra as well as a 6800GT and I'm looking forward to using the Step-up program for the first time if the new G92 8800GTS arrives in time. Good to hear all the great experiences you guys have had with it.

@RussianHAXOR

hey thanks for the offer!! actually i dont see a need yet for RMA im just checking my options since brea is a stone's away from me...i'm a very impatient person when it comes to RMA so if the drop-off would work thats awesome!!
