We have plenty of threads where people post their cases, displays, desks, etc. but how does your stuff look like when you move it around to other places? For portability/lanning, etc.? How do you carry it all around? Big straps for your case? Just carrying your monitor by hand? I remember the days back in 1999 when I lugged a heavy beige case around with a 19" CRT seatbelted in the passenger seat of my car. It was hell, I recentely worked out a perfect system for carrying my computer around, not only for lans but for travelling and for work.
I bought a new guitar and discovered my 20.4" LG (could still fit a 22") fit perfectly inside the vintage guitar case which was perfectly padded with an extra-soft velvetty material too which protected it (versus sticking it in a suitcase). Also had plenty of room and partitions for the monitor's snap-on stand, cables, accessories, and even carrying a wireless router that fits perfectly in the headstock partition for setting up lans. The Shuttle fits into my Targus backpack easily (it even zips up) with room in the pockets for anything else and a thin BenQ keyboard fits into the laptop pocket of the backpack. Makes carrying everything a snap, and takes away any fear of dropping a computer or scratching my monitor. It's as easy as wearing a backpack and carrying a guitar case from place to place.
The regular setup at home:
