Yep. Bumped my CPU to an X2 4800+ from a 3700+. Also bumped my 7800GT to an 8800GT. Mostly I did it for Crysis but I also upgraded for CoD4, UT3, Gears of War and next year's Frontlines:Fuel of War.

Built the rig in my sig. I'm about to bump it up to 4 gigs and add a raptor as well...

No - Already had a sh*t hot PC

That's probably incorrect though as my cards are getting kinda dated. :(

Damn you PC gaming!

I went from a dual-core Opteron 170 to a Quad-core 6600, plus changed the gfx from 6800 to 800gtx, changed the RAM to from DDR 3200 to DDR2 8500 so it was a major upgrade.
It was mainly for Crysis but also because I do alot of video encoding/decoding.

Picked up another 7900GS here on the forums. I doubt it's going to help much, but I've always wanted to screw around with SLI anyway :)

No upgrade for me. I just built my new rig early last Spring. It holds it's own well enough in Crysis so I don't see the need to upgrade at the moment. If the next-gen video cards offer a huge upgrade from my GTS then I might grab one of those, but otherwise I'll just stand pat for a while until I feel like doing a complete new build.

I started to build a PC and then I got a job reviewing hardware for NVNews.net, so I get free Quad cores and 8800GTs. :D

I already was at: "No - Already had a sh*t hot PC", but I upgraded to two 8800GT 512's in SLI for the new wave of awesome games that are out, and coming out. :D

I definitely bought new hardware just for Crysis.
New CPU, Mobo and Ram.

My old motherboard did die though, and I could have just replaced that and go on with my usual programs. But since Crysis was just around the corner I went ahead and ordered new stuff.

Still waiting for a new Vid Card though. So not completely done with the upgrade yet :)

There's an option missing, which is what I'm doing:

"Not yet, but I'm going to" :)

Missing yet another option:

"No...and I don't give a good healthy sh*t about Crysis."

I'm sorry..I'm just venting because I need to upgrade to play it half way decent and I don't have the money right now cuz of xmas time :(

Voted "No - I will just play it @ 800x600 8bits colours with no textures."

I really play at 1280x768 all low settings except physics, sound, and postprocessing are all on medium. It's very playable and still looks good at around 35-40 FPS. I am starting to buy parts for a new PC though. I laugh at every post where someone complains about how bad it looks on their 2 year old rig, doesn't run well, blah, blah, blah, etc. It runs fine on 5 year old tech which amazes me since Crytek only mentioned going back as far as 3-4 yrs.

Yep - Built the rig in my sig back in Aug in anticipation of Crysis and the other hot games coming our way...

My rig was getting dated, I mostly upgraded to play new games such as Bioshock, Crysis did have influence on me though.

got another gb of ram, bought a X2 3800+ to replace my 3000+(still on socket 939 since I'm lazy), and bought a 8800gt to replace my 7800gt. This is for crysis, gears of war, and cod4.

Already running an X2 6000+ system with 2 gigs of ram so the only thing I did was upgrade from a 8800 GTS 320mb to an 8800GT SSC.

I upgraded to dual core a year ago and got a second card for SLI 2 years ago, does that count? :p

I built my rig almost exactly a year ago, then got the gtx xxx for xmas. really haven't had anything test that card til this game, it's been collecting alot of dust and keeping my bedroom warm. it runs perfectly at 1680 x 1050 with all settings on high. the ultra high settings are greyed out, i'm assuming only selectable in vista? i'm curious what's missing on high settings.

Even on high it looks amazing, you really have to go crawling around through the grass to find any of the texturemapped flat ground.

Tonight when i get home i'll see how it runs on my 47" westy. How do i see a framerate count? i want to compair my 20" dell to the 47" and see what the differences are.

Well I'm putting together a new PC over the next few weeks for Crysis, UT3, Gears of War, STALKER (maxed out), COD4, Bioshock and the rest of the big games so I voted yes. :)

this mf'er was updated to play these games better.i also know its not the fastest either:D

Yep

8800 GT Superclocked at 650 MHz
Quad Core @ 3.4 GHz
4 GB RAM
7200.11 Hard Drives
620W Corsair Power Supply
20" SIPS Panel
IP35 Mobo

I can get VERY playable framerates at 1600x1200 with my rig.
Most settings are on high, some set to medium.
I also made some personal configuration modifications myself.
AA is done through the config tweaks such as edge-AA, rather than through the CP
Also Af set to 16x

I can usually hit 30-40 FPS on average.
