Newegg / [H]ardOCP AMD Athlon X2 5000+ Black Edition Drawing

1. I would finally replace my trusty old Nforce4 Socket 939 board with a brand new AMD board. I would have to buy a new board and some DDR2, but it would be worth it.
2. Phenom is AMD's next gen desktop part.
 
1) First and foremost, I would begin building a new computer to replace my old and dead custom built AMD Athlon 1700+ system that has been collecting dust for a good 2 years. I have been using an eMachines laptop for 4 years and it's slowly dieing off. I am a full-time student and its hard saving enough money while working a min. wage job to buy every piece of a new computer that would be decent/great at gaming.

2) Phenom with different number of cores: ie, Phenom X2, Phenom X3, Phenom X4, Phenom FX.
 
1. If I were one of the chosen to receive an AMD Athlon X2 5000+ Black Edition I would honestly build a new system around it. My current system would then get a few part swaps and that would be for my kids to use at my place and at LANs, or whom ever happened to come over and may want to play at a LAN. Parts from the kid's current system would work their way into some on-line game servers so more folks can enjoy gaming in a great community. Of course it would fold, and I've already got a wish list built. X

1: Recycle my 939 Swiftech watercooling setup w/ a new core block & see how far this CPU will go!

1) I'd make my current P4 LGA 775 build into a build for my parents and switch back to my old favorite, AMD. The only reason I have the one I have now is from doing tech work for a friend who was going to get rid of it. Being a poor network security major does not equal nice computer parts most of the time unfortunately.

1) I would use it to help my sister and I build a new PC for our little cousin who just recently lost his Dad to a rare cancer and really has never had anything good happen for him. The PC that he and his Mom currently use is a complete joke... They have an old AMD 200Mhz with a Diamond Monster 3D 4meg video card. In todays internet, the thing can barely surf the web. He'd go nuts knowing he had something for once in his life that was top of the line.

May be retire my barton. Build a new computer, But I have fast Intels now and am happy with them. So the only way to build a new AMD computer would be to win the CPU.

2. Don't know since I have been using Intel chips lately.
 
1. I'm building a new computer anyway... For the new I'd buy a big honking $500-600 video card with the money that I saved on getting the processor for free!

I would rebuild my home server around this processor. I use my home server to host services for a handful of charity organizations in my area. I will most likely underclock it to save on power as well as to see how low this processor will go.

1. Go in for heart surgery from the excitement and then build a new top of the line system with all new parts from Newegg!

1. Build my kids a wonderful new computer for Christmas using the Athlon X2 5000+ to enhance their education experience.....oh hell who am I kidding...I'd buld myself a pimpin' new rig and frag until my fingers fell off.

1. I was making a wish list at Newegg for a new computer for games and this processor would fit in nicely. I would use my current processor to build a nice HTPC.

1. Upgrade from s939, so that means a new board and DDR2 from newegg.

1. Simple. I'd overclock the snot out of it. Any additional hardware needed for this would, of course, come from Newegg. ;)

My name is Jeremy Roe, and I would donate my new computer to children in our local refugee community where strong networking is needed to keep family bonds together but also to help develop a project of mine which is to translate their language "hmong" into english using a new tool I developed. I would then allow students to use the computer for translations and getting help with their homework.

2. The new cpu, which one? I love them. There is the "Phenom", "Black Edition", Opteron Quad Core and "FireStream 9170 Stream Processor". I'll take one please for beta testing!

1.) Get a new Motherboard that would allow me to overclock that processor, and 4 gig of overclockable memory to go with it, and of course a 8800, or maybe two.

2.) Phenom!
 
I would build a kick ass PC for myself and configure my PC so that my sister (single mother, with no technical aptitude) could easily use it. Configure it with remote desktop so that when she calls me not knowing how to do something, I could log in and show her.

and the Phenom is the new processor!
 
1. Use it to replace my 5 year old "gaming rig" with something more respectable.

1) I would build a new gaming rig to replace my current aging one, and turn the old one into an HTPC. (All of the parts, naturally, would come from newegg) Then I'd probably have to wait until I'm done with my CS degree in the spring before i can actually have enough time to properly enjoy it : )

1. I'd punch my boss in the face! Hmmm, oh that's if I won the lottery. :D I'd finally give in and build a new gaming rig and my socket 939 system would become my girlfriend's computer so I could stop using her crappy HP Slimline pc at her place.

1. swap out my cpu with it, finally buy a geforce 8800gt, and turn my htpc into a hybrid htpc/gaming rig!
