Man, their website is horrible...You cant even get drivers from the American Website..

Also when they release out a new BIOS, they dont keep the older one available...So if you update the BIOS, and it screws up, you cant roll back..Unless you saved the old one when you updated to the new one..(Yes, I blew out a MB because of this issue)

I have never seen a website so horrible...You sometimes go on there, and they dont even have the drivers available..

2 days later, they are back up...It is ridiculous...

I just had to vent for a moment...

I just bought a new Gigabyte MB...I feel better now..

I rarely ever go to a motherboard's website to get drivers, and I've made it a habit to back up the current BIOS before flashing a new one in. So, I've got nothing.... :D

Don't wanna cause a flame war or anything, but as a tech, IMHO biostar sucks. The company I work for ordered 6 socket 478 MBs from a supplier a year or so ago. 5 were returned as DOA.

Hey, I looked at your Sig, and we now have the same MB. :)

I really like the Gigabyte.

I have only seen one Biostar mobo that I ever liked and it was never sold in the US in any quantity.

the company I work for used to get a lot of Biostar boards (various types, all lower end). mixed on them, only a couple DOA's, and most are still going.

they are being used in low end pc's, and not overclocked or anything.

We have since stopped using them, and are currently using MSI boards.

Why the hell would any computer manufacturer put the word bio in their name?

One of my friends bought a Biostar socket A motherboard with an AGP slot and integrated video. Then he tried to put a PCI video card in it. Man oh man was that difficult, took us around 3 hours to get that thing up and running, and God forbid you go looking for documentation or any online support from them. They're good only if you're looking for the absolute cheapest thing you can get.

The Tforce lines were good boards. The socket 754 and 939 were hands down the best overclocking matx boards. I havent used them much since and Ive noticed the newer Tforce boards cost alot less then the compitition. Not certain if they are still as good as they once were.

Ive only for used a couple of their lower end boards and never been very pleased with them.

I see this thread yet I have read a BUNCH of other post on here about how the TF560 is such a good board...this confuses me.
I am building a new PC and i dont know what to get
this board or the MSI K9N SLi Plat.

I've always looked at them as cheaper, budget boards that are lower in quality (like ECS, PC Chips, Jetway, Foxconn etc.). I'd never buy one unless I was building a system for someone on an extreme budget.

+1... gone are the days ?

I was just saying Ive used and can verify the s754 and s939 boards. I havent kept up on the newer ones and have no idea about them, not trying to put them down or anything.

I was looking at the p35 board when it came out and it was somewhere between $60-$80 vs the Abit IP35 pro for $180. It had a huge price difference so I just assumed it wasnt as high caliber.

Not certain if the OP was even refering to the Tforce line but if you were, I always got my stuff from rebelhaven not biostar.

I had a TForce 6100-939 and I really liked it, I regret selling it.

I bought another one after that and it was DOA...

I'm still running a BIOSTAR TForce6100-939 from them with the Rebels Haven bios on it... been running pretty much 24/7 since March 2006... no problems here...

Biostar is ok if you need a cheap office computer, or your mom needs a machine to check her email on..

Otherwise, this is the order I select Mobos in... DFI -> Asus -> Abit -> Gigabyte

I just work my way down the list until I find one that is featured with what I need and priced right. Obviously my first choice is DFI and my last choice being Gigabyte. None of my choice orders have anything to do with the real true quality of the boards, its just my personal preference.
