I liked it. Felt more like Old school NFS then the newer ones and the music is better for racing.

The Demo should have had more in it though, because alot of people keep saying it's shitty based on the demo, even though every need for speed game has been pretty fun. Guess people like to just bitch for the hell of it.

I find it kind of funny that people pick up a NFS game and expect it to be a racing sim. Its an arcade racer. I'm looking forward to the new game. I wish there was more to the demo but I'm more than satisfied with it.

To me, the latest NFS titles can't even get the Arcade feel correct. Yes, they aren't going for realism, but at least they could get the fantasy to feel natural, fun, or even somewhat satisfying to drive in. Series like Project Gotham Racing and even Burnout strike me as good Arcade racers; they feel good to drive in despite the hugely unrealistic physics!

As far as I can remember the NFS speed games have always been that way. You would try it jump into the gas out of the corner and it wouldn't accelerate. Can't accelerate if the wheel is turned. The only other racers I've played are the test drives and Trackmania. NFS best them and I'm a sucker for NFS for some reason.

The game is about what I've come to expect from NFS but it does resemble High Stakes more than the 4 games. I've never really played Porche Unleashed always been more of a American muscle type of guy. I will prob buy this game when it comes out hoping that it is finally a decent successor to High Stakes. I will prob be disappointed there but I'm guess I will enjoy the game for what it is.

Ehhh, I'll try to final release, but IMO NFS3 Hot Persuit and Porche Unleashed were the best overall for fun, longevity, quality and graphics. I have not enjoyed one since NFS5 personally.

I have bought and beaten the last 4 NFS games, but based on this demo, the streak stops here.

I just went from pwning in Carbon quick-races to being unable to stay on the road in the Pro Street demo. They have totally FUBARed the steering sensitivity.

I've enjoyed the NFS games in the past, but ever since playing Forza 2 for 360, I just can't bring myself to go back to the arcade style of racing.

And the poll results here aren't very inspiring either. I'll probably skip this one.

NFS series died after Porsche Unleashed.

I tried the demo, and again, i'm feeling like i'm driving an hovercraft instead of a car.

It looked like shit, MW looks the best on my pc, but they cant optimize carbon or this? wtf... I know I need to upgrade though, but still...

I played the shit out of Porsche Unleashed, and this was pretty similar. The handling is more like the PGR series. Are you guys playing around with the different assist options? If you guys suck that much, try the casual one.

The only issue I had with the game(King mode) was that 6 cars were totaled by the time I had finished the speed king mode. Hopefully that's fixed, but other then that I'm glad they got away from the Carbon/Most wanted style of games.

I haven't played this one but the only one I liked in recent memory was Most Wanted. Before that Hot Pursiut was the last one I enjoyed. I hated Carbon and the Underground games.

totally agree with you. I wish EA games could take a their time to develop a high quality game. Otherwise there are gonna end up releasing mediocre games like Carbon, which IMHO was a waste of money. That is sad :( because i've liked the NFS franchise since NFS1 !!

Just imagine a NFS: Ferrari Unleashed, with today graphics!!

In my opinion Porsche unleashed was the only decent game to come out of the franchise. The physics were almost believable, the gameplay was easy to learn and have fun with. The graphics for the time period were excellent. Tons of maps, tons of cars, customizations, damage, great sound. Then came "underground".

This latest Demo was far from satisfying. After two passes I was uninstalling it and deleting the zip file. What a shame.

The consoley menu's were a major turn off, and the gameplay was kind of meh. I'm going to skip this one.

It was OK but I don't think it's worth the $50 asking price that I'm sure it will be.

The damage system and tire smoke are the only real differences between this and the last few NFS titles IMO.

shit is just as bad as carbon in terms of gaming interface. God can't they just cut out all those ads in game. I hate when a corporation like EA shoves all their ea bullcrap down your throat.

Few more thoughts; only thing i liked about the demo was the soundtrack that sounded like WASP song to me (anyone knows which band it is?).

About the damage system it would be better to have no damage at all. You don't have a crack on the car windows even after 20 rollovers. If you want to see some real damaging system take a look at Colin McRae Rally Dirt.

And last but most important is the message from EA in the intro something like "it's time to stop racing on streets!" WTF! You're the one who encouraged it with your NFS Underground sh*t! Now you're telling us to stop it? Get a life!

Personally I didn't like it. I think if something like Test Drive Unlimited would integrate something more, like car mods and other stuff in that nature (which we all love) would rock hardcore. I mean, I love racing, but in the end I'd rather play a racing game kinda like an rpg. Work to get the best, and show off :D

I'd like to hear the opinion of someone similar to myself, who loved Most Wanted and thought Carbon wasn't bad.

The addition of damage modeling is great, but taking the game off the streets, bringing back the drag races and taking the cops out of the game...that sounds really bad. The cop chases were the most fun I've had in a racing game.

Im with you Scyles loved MW thought carbon was okay but this demo is disappointing very disappointing I dont like it one bit.

Tried them all. They all suck. I like previous NFS titles and Gran Turismo just fine; it's the changes in the control that suck.

I enjoyed Most Wanted and Carbon, but I wouldn't get Pro Street. It's that bad. :(

Meh...idk, I thought it was decent enough. I'll probably pick it up when it's released...

Not enough content in the demo to make a fair judgment IMO.

odd..........one corner in the GTR was all it took to let me know that this game is a pile of crap. I wasn't looking forward to this game, but i figured i give it a shot. I'm confused about who at EA thought this was worth releasing. the driving got ALOT worse since the previous games. I believe that EA could make something great for the NFS series....but their stupid project managers rush the fuck out of everything and it really shows.

Does the demo have multiplayer? I'm at a LAN at the moment and we're looking for newer racing games.

It's craptacular. As expected. Another franchise gets EA'd into mediocrity.

Played the demo, it's shit.

While I don't hate EA as much as everyone else, I can understand where you are coming from. EA can't be blamed for all of these games sucking but the fact is that while they are cranking out one new version of Need for Speed each year they aren't going to have the time needed to make any of them truly great. From the look of things each of these games has gotten worse and worse since Need for Speed Most Wanted. The Underground games had alot of good things about them but I didn't care for the drifting or music. Even so those were better quality games than the Carbon or this piece of shit.

I want a remake on NFS: Hot Pursuit that was seriusly the best game ever i sat for days and played it, the tracks the handling everything was just top notch back then, why the hell arent they making any good games like this no more.. underground was a joke, most wanted was somewhat good, and the latest prostreet is just back to something mixed in underground = pure crap.

Is the PSP version out yet?

Hopefully it's better than Carbon was for the PSP. I beat that game in 2 days.
