New mATX case from NZXT

I'd buy one. It's what I have been asking for since I bought an ARIA. ATX fits in current cubes – why not? Get creative, but keep it the same size.

Exactly! but little more modification have to be mad to accommodate ATX. Only one that takes ATX that I know of is Qpack that is modded to get I/O panel is facing left panel. If you want I/O panel to face back, you have to increase width which makes it bigger. But I would still buy that. Matter in fact, I would definitely buy that. :D

P.S. Looking at the picture, it's good that way to mount PSU is not only to face fan towards top but have option to face down. :)

All of the microATX cube cases could fit an ATX board - even the ARIA. It just requires a good design. No company has done it yet. It's really not that complicated and I have a few setups that would work and still have a symmetric layout.

 I have X-Qpack which I believe it is bigger than most of SFF cases out there. Width is wider than most too. Take a look at this.

A full size ATX board is 12" wide by 9.6" deep (305mm x 244mm).

Dimension of X-Qpack is 9"H x 11.2"W x 14"D

Dimension of Aria is 7.9"(H) x 10.6"(W) x 13.2"(D)

How da hell are you going to fit ATX mobo which is 12" long to 11.2" wide Qpack case(which is already wider than most SFF) or 10.6" in case of Aria for that matter other then facing I/O panel to side????????? I think no matter even if best designer designs best design he've ever made, he won't be able to design a case that is 11.2" or 10.6" wide that can fit 12" wide motherboard.

If they build new one that is wider, sure but with existing size? NO! not unless they turn it side or make modification to side panel and extend it which I would never would do to my Qpack.

In case for ROGUE, it has to be at least 12" wide + 2" for fans on both side. But in reality, at least 1/2" have to be added on top of that because of thickness of side panel and grill etc. Basically, to be practical it has to be around 14 1/2" - 15" wide to accommodate ATX mobo for ATX ROGUE if it ever makes it or if they ever think to consider making it. Sure, you can follow traditional design and make one that is about 12 1/2" wide but I like the idea of side intake, back exhaust and clean front panel better. :)

NZXT Dood, let me do the design if you ever decide to make ATX version of Rogue. ;) I would love to do that so I can have exact dimension that works for me and also can accommodate all HS out there and still have Rogue design intact. :D

here are some more shots guys.

Interresting.... but it would be nice with some shoots, with a bigger view of the inside. Also you mentioned that you made a build with watercooling.... that I would like to see.

Wow. It seems like a very solid build. Five (or is it six? ) 3.5" and two 5.25". More than enough for most users.

NZXT_Dood, stop posting those beautiful pictures ;) I don't want to deter from what I am planning to build :D

The more I see this case, the more I love it. The attention to detail is amazing. Room for 4 hard drives? Check. Removable MB tray? (Heck, even the fact that the PSU can be removed from the outside of the case. Pure genius.) Check. Ample cooling? Check. Infinite modding possibilities? Check baby!

that bracket can be switched out... like so. :) it'll fit all our 850W -> 1200W range powers ( don't know why you would need so much power given that there's no SLI m-atx board out.

Thank you for giving us those pics NZXT_Dood!

Questions
1. How tall HSF do you estimate can be placed?
2. Do you think that the 8800-cooler HR03+ will fit? The PSU seems awfully close to the PCI slots. The HR03+ is approx 33 mm higher than the top of the 8800 card.

Ahhhh wait wait wait... Is that a top window I spot?
Man, this case must be the ultimate mATX case ever. Is it possible you have a photo of the case from the front (not angled and macroview)?

Huh, I think I'm convinced going for this case after all. Damn you NZXT_Dood =) . It would seem that this case has some acoustic advantages as well. The front seems to be three layers of alumina, and if the front fan holes are covered I think that the noise level would be lower than most mATX cases. But then again, I maybe just trying to convince myself :D

Do you know if you had any requirements of acoustic signature while the case was designed?

Judging by the looks, I don't think you have to worry about height of the HS but rather worry about width. :)I was hoping to be able to face TRUE towards back but looking at the picture, it seems I can only face it towards vieo card.

NZXT_Dood,

It looks only access you have to inside of the case is from the top. Is it? It doesn't seem like side panels come off. Thanks for the picures BTW. :D

wow i love this case!! i just bought a rc-690 too! dammit! i wanted to go atx but i dont know now, this case is nice as hell. Thanks NZXT dood.

Its a shame its too big for the next project I have planned. Luckily the SG03 fits the bill. However I am looking forward to seeing a full review of this case. It could be a great option for those wanting a Qmicra and unable to afford its hefty price tag.

WOW, thats soooo cool, thanks a ton NZXT_Dood, u da man!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Just finished my Lanbox build....Think I'll switch everything from my Lanbox to a NZXT:D....EZ

I don't have any cases on me right now to measure the heatsink dimensions, but here are the final photos of the interior. The case is set to go on sale come mid November at all major retail chains. Let me know if i can help you guys with something. We're doing someting really cool to pair up the launch of the rogue.. can't talk about it yet though. :)

Wow, very easy access to everything. I like that, no support beam in middle like Qpack which is pain in butt. :) I gotta see this in real life :( I'm like a pervert waiting for new issue of adult magazine now. lol I come here to check update and possible new picture like every 5 minutes. lol I also have idea to mount TRUE facing rear exhaust already in case it can't be. It doesn't involve any mod to case and only possible due to design of this case. :D Also, very good Idea to use wire grill rather than stamped one. It's such PITA to cut out grill every ime I get new case. Can you believe I had to use about $40 worth or cutting wheel for my dremel to do my YY-0221 and I still have to cut more?

Kinda reminds me of the last bachelor party I went to. The strippers were amazingly hot, and they knew how to tease. Just a little bit at a time... The more you see, the more you want... Your mind wandered to thoughts of touching her sexy chassis, and all the 'hardware' you could stuff in to her... Oh, wait, got kinda sidetracked there... sorry. ;)

Nice shoots NZXT_Dood... it's looking great.
But... you said something about watercooling it, and that it has been done. Is there any chance that we could see those pic's?
My next build will be with watercooling, done it before and I miss the silence.
Up til now the only perfect case, as said before, is the QMicra V2. But that case is'nt avalible in europe, and importing it... is gonna cost big time.

So.. plz. show us some pics of that "water" build ;)

Damnit NZXT.

You really have a winrar there.

Some holes in the body would be nice though, for strapping on zip ties.

My new LAN box for sure.

Gonna slap some 36.7 raptors in Raid-0 and my 8800 gts 320 when I upgrade my main comp... x2 4200 couple IDE drives

Wooo... I need a job :D

This case is pretty cool... Now if only it was half the size, half the price, and retains all the features :p

Now only one question remains... is dworley gonna go for it? With his impressive amount of SFF builds.... is this one an option?

Hmm those dimensions are alot bigger than I originally thought by looking at the pics... Already over 25% bigger than the QMicra V2. Looks better, though.

Seems like everytime a new cube case comes out, it gets progressively bigger. First it was the Shuttles, then the ARIA then the X-Qpack, Microfly, Q-Micras and now this. I used to think the ARIA was pushing it...

Well, if nVidia and ATI could shrink the size of their video cards case makers wouldnt need to make them so big.

btw, Its only slightly bigger than the Qmicra v2 and half its cost. I'll await reviews before guessing at its quality and performance.

Thanks for all the pics NZXT_Dood. Because of that and the inside is painted I'm buying one as soon as I see it on newegg.

@NZXT_Dood
Just saw that one picture was missing among all the nice shoots of the case. There are no shoots from the front view, with the door open? Can you post them?

I currently have an SG03 and Fragbox II packed away not even being used.....I really like the NZXT design, but I am going to pass the baton on case reviews - LOL

@dworley
Well... would have been nice to see some pic's form you, regarding the NZXT case. ;)

I was BTW. looking at your signature.... you are using Patriot RAM, how are they? compared to Crucial Ballistix?
And the Abit F-I90HD board.... I was under the impression that the Gigabyte GA-G33M was the one to go for, when building a SFF, is it better than the ABit board?

I used to buy only Corsair and Kingston ram, the last few batches of Corsair I bought from Fry's or Newegg had 1 stick bad. I have Patriot ram in all of my computers now and never had any bad sticks. They don't OC as well as others but they are reliable.

Alot of people had failures with the Abit board, at the time it came out - it was the only game in town if you wanted an OC capable C2D matx board. Mine has been working great with E4300 @ 3.0ghz, so I have no desire to try any of the G33 boards.

Man, this is some SWEET case!

The only thing "denting" it is the price... I just can't understand why smaller cases have to be more expensive... Standard "OEM" ATX case: around €30~35, even less, if you get a good deal; standard "OEM" mATX case: never less than €50 (usually they are at least €75), and that's pushing it already.

Only once I've seen a mATX case below the €50 mark: the TM-21x from Asus, which can actually be bought for €35. If you manage to find it available, that is... lol

@NZXT_Dood
I'm from Portugal. Do you have any idea when that case will be available here? And the price? Those $149 translate to just over €100 (which wouldn't be all that bad for a "gaming" mATX case), but usually the prices are very similar (like $149-€149...:mad:, or almost a 33% premium over american currency).

Btw, did I hear somebody talking about a competition to win one of these? Where? ;)

Cheers

Miguel

If the price is around 100€, at least, the carry thing... should be included.

@NZXT_Dood......... lot's more pictures ;) and plz. if possible..... a shoot of the one with watercooling.
Looking forward to it.
And thanks for sharing

I think a radiator was tested just for fit, I don't believe a full installation was done.
