I have overclocked my e6600 to 3.2 prime and orthos stable with acceptable temps. The problem is, when I play oblivion, it is actually SLOWER than when my CPU is at stock! It seriously starts to studder. Why would this be? I thought I was crazy, but my friend was playing too and he noticed the same exact thing. What is going on?

Maybe your processor is generating alot of errors, and the cpu is having to reprocess data?

can't be ur cpu, i would say ur ram got maxed out and start to use virtual memory? just a thought.

note: remember, vista use more ram space than win xp do. ;)

is your videocard overclocked ?

I've had that happen with a videocard before. thought not a CPU.

I really have no idea what is going on. My video card is at stock, and running orthos and prime my temps max out at 53 degrees using core temp. Maybe it does have something to do with my RAM, but I just don't understand why it would be fine at stock. When the CPU is overclocked I can scream through SuperPI so I really don't know why oblivion would actually be slower.
