Hi

Wondering if 'ASUS P5W DH Deluxe' and 'DFI INFINITY 975X' will support the new 45nm Core. And if not are there any good upgrade options with ECC memory?

TIA

I believe the Asus P5W DH deluxe will support the 45nm CPUs. Its stated on Asus website though you will need BIOS 2302 if I remember correctly.

That is good news for early Core2Duo adopters like me who jumped on the P5W DH when C2D first came out. However, I don't think this board can hold on any longer. From what I have read this board cannot clock the Quads with high FSB like the P35 and X38 boards.

I've been lurking around to try and get a small upgrade, but it looks like I will need a new board to get some good mhz on either a new E6850 or Q6600.

I also have a ASUS P5WDH Deluxe Motherboard.

I'm considering Upgrading my CPU and Memory BUT before I do that, I have 2 questions:

1) Will this support Quad Core Processors Q6600?
2) Will this supprt PC2-8500 (DDR2-1066) memory?

If you surf on Asus's website to your motherboard's model you should be able to fidn a link with all the supported cpu's

It says QUAD Core ready (with the Latest BIOS Update)

As far as DDR@ it says its DDR 800 compatible.

So that means i wont be ablet to run PC2-85500 DDR2-1066 on it?

it should be able to run it but possibly not at it's rated speed.

That would be a waste of my money... I guess i will just buy a X48 MB....
OR should i overclock the FSB on the motherboard to run the ram faster?
