UT3 demo by tomorrow...10/12

Plays great. I'm at stock speeds and only 1GB of RAM and it ran quite well (couple hiccups due to 1GB of RAM) in both TDM and CTF (16 bots). All settings at highest and 1680x1050 res.

Tested the demo with the following configuration:

Platform: Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 (2,2 GHz), Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT (540/700), 2 MB RAM DDR 800 MHz CL5, Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit

Resultion: 1280 * 1024 with all settings turned to maximum, no anti-aliasing or anisotropic filtering, vertical sync enabled

The game engine runs very smoothly even with hardware this weak. Everything works well and playing is kind of fun. However, for me, the demo was a disappointment both in gameplay and audio visual experience. It is like the old UT1999/2004 with some enhancements. Does not really look like the earlier screenshots. The sound effects and especially taunts were somewhat phlegmatic compared for example to the harsh growls in Unreal Tournament 2003.

Where is my own body and shadow? The character seems to be just a floating gun attached to nothing. No reflection images in water. In this area, they should take a look at the graphics engine in Chronicles of Riddick and F.E.A.R.

I find Enemy Territory: Quake Wars a much better multiplayer game even I've only played the demo versions of these new games.

I get a installation error just after it finishes extracting. :(

Any Ideas? Running XP x64 here.

Me too. =/

Except I'm on 32bit, I've tried downloading three times from three different sources.

I first get a "1603" error from the installshield application, then after that, as it starts to install, I get a 1335 error, something about a corrupt CAB file.

So far enjoyed the demo... feels just like every other UT I've played... though I'm glad the movement's been tweaked a bit, it doesn't feel like you're on ice as much as it used to.

The game's pretty easy to get back into, already dominated a few deathmatches I've been in, when it comes to indiscriminate killing, this game serves it up big time.

Just to let people know, if you have a OC quad and GTX combo on vista64, it runs silky smooth, never felt like my aim was hampered at all by the frame rates, managed a few headshots with the sniper rifle without zooming too. Specs in sig, if you are interested, I feel like it's really overpowered for this game, so those with less hardware should still be able to play just fine...

I like the demo. I do think it underrepresents the final game, but it is still fun.

Unreal Tournament is all about fast paced combat, not destructable environments, self reflections in the water, or other useless pretties.
