For those who missed out on the Seagate 500GB deal a couple weeks ago, the deal is back.

Again these drives are SATA 3.0 and PATA and some have been confirmed 7200.10 drives.
AAE and AAK firmware will vary as well.

bestbuy website is already backordered so you will have to check your local stores.
 
What was the general consensus on reliability for these guys? I think I remember many warning that there was a high failure rate.
 
I have had a 7200.9 for anout 3 years now and nothing ever went wrong with it. Its just used as storage
 
Really wanted one of these the last time around but all the stores near me sold out of SATA ones like pancakes at an IHOP.

I just got back, bought one and it's a 7200.10!

Might get another tomorrow for the media PC.

(They are in-store and were lots in Florence, KY BestBuy if anyone is in the area)

My Seagate 7200.10 drives been fine for almost a year now, but if you're worried these drives have a 5yr warranty.

which firmware revision did you get?
 
Yeah, I just picked mine up yesterday. I haven't opened it yet though. I wish it was WD, but it was a good deal.
