Refurb Black Zune $99

I got one, I doubt anything could be worse than using I-tunes, but I could be wrong.

I would never recommend listening to headphones in the car whle driving. It is Illegal in most places.

Zune program is a pain the ass to use. The Zune itself it great, just organizing everything myself was an unwanted adventure.

Darn it, there goes $104.99. I absolutely had no need for another mp3 player, but oh well. After the update, should be pretty sweet.

Just use WMP...Zune shares the same structure and your changes in WMP will carry over to Zune software (just open the Zune software and let it sit there for awhile to scan for changes).

Works great!

Also remember there is a new Zune PC software suite coming when the new Zunes are released.

Wow, I can't believe that these are still available. Maybe I should pick up another one for future occasions. Too good of a deal to pass on

Wait, NO NO NO!!!
it was because of that kind of thinking that I ended up buying one already.

Wow, either they had a huge amount of these things in stock or nobody knows about this deal because they are still in stock. I mean, granted not everyone is cool with refurbished, but back when they had white ones for 129.99 those sold out in a day, as well as when they had them for 149.99.

it is a special site not advertised on the main w00t site, so not as many can find it most likely

wife and i just had another baby last week now this pops up....damn
got one now wife is pissed.

Damn, I can't decide.

I mean, I don't have a MP3 player, and never really needed one because I can use my cell phone since I have 1GB of songs on there. But for a price like this, it's really damn tempting.

For those in the know, what's the biggest complaints about these Zunes? I heard the lack of WiFi support is, and some of you mention the software blows.

Those points taken into consideration, do you all think this is still a steal at $100? Can anyone speculate how better the Zune 2 will be compared to this one? I'd hate to fine out the Zune 2 turns out to be some amazing new MP3 player that is the next must get and I decided to jump at the 1st, less than spectacular Zune.

Any input would be peachy, thanks.

Some like the software better than the ipods, I have an ipod, its a very simple interface, i'd actually like something more demanding with more options, apparently the Zune is just that, it has a bunch of quirks i guess, I never tried one but i ordered the $99 deal a couple days ago, its to good to pass up...

oh and about the software...It will be upgraded to the zune 2's firmware/software free of charge via microsoft, this is HUGE...your basically getting the zune 2 in the zune 1 shell.

Just buy it and upgrade the firmware to the zune 2's in november when it comes out :)

Personally, I don't need an mp3 player either, but I jumped on this. I've used a Zune before, and honestly the biggest downside for me is the size. It's quite a bit bigger and heavier than an ipod. IMO the software is better than itunes, but I've always hated itunes to begin with. The wifi support is pretty useless, but that's not really a big deal to me since I don't share songs with friends and stuff like that anyway.

As far as the Zune 2 goes, all of the firmware and software is going to be backwards compatible with the original, so you don't be missing out on anything there. Supposedly the WiFi will work differently on the 2.0, and it will allow you to sync it wirelessly. The navigation is much different as well, as it uses a touchpad sort of thing instead of the directional pad that there is on this one.

Another thing worth noting is that the second generation Zune is not coming out in a 30gb capacity. There will be a 4gb, 8gb, and an 80gb, and if you don't need 30gb you're definitely not going to need 80. The 4gb and the 8gb are supposed to be $150 and $200, respectively, so you can weigh the extra cost for a couple features and much less memory.

Overall, this is a phenomenal deal if you're looking for a hard drive based mp3 player and you don't have to have the bleeding edge technology.

Mine still says everything went through ok..Now I wait for a shipped status..

And as of an hour ago 12:am EST they still had them.

This unit is Toshiba built and the screen is amazing. I also have the Gigabeat from which the Zune was derived.

Damn hard to go wrong at a hundred bucks and I did compare my Gigabeat to a video iPod, screen wise it was a no brainer.;)

Damn. I am a poor college student but I just bought one 5 mins ago.

Thanks to whoever bumped the thread.:(

I can't decide. Can you put Red vs Blue videos on them? RvB videos are only in Quicktime and DivX. Can you convert them?

You guys are doing it wrong. At this price, you buy one for your wife and one for yourself. You then load up all her albums on it and present it to her for bonus points.

Alright, someone help me justify buying this AND a Sansa Express (for exercising) :p

this holds lots more, can show you the name of the song you're listening to via FM radio (like cars), and its about to receive a free firmware and software upgrade in november?

The ability to piss off every iDiot drone you meet...

The ability to walk into an apple store playing your Zune in full sight, laughing and pointing and the iDiots.

dont get me started on the price... or the 1gb / $$ ratios!

Last but not least... did you *look* at the price tag? I mean seriously...

All valid points. But I definitely need something flash based for exercising. I've already decided that I'm going to get a Sansa Express for that. Now I'm trying to decide if I should get this Zune as well.

My head hurts...

I resisted, but just barely. I have no need for an MP3 player....

Only Q I have... do you have to screw with all the protection crap you mess with with iTunes/iPod?

Main question right now, can you use Windows Media Player to sync this?

Well I bought two... One for an upcoming birthday, another for myself.

Considering Microsoft is upgrading the software for FREE, this is a superb deal.
Only differences are some cosmetic (I think Zune 2 has touchpad and glass screen) ones.

But the fact you get more feature enhancements for FREE is awesome (Screw you- Apple!!).

I've been hearing a lot about this upgrade, is there a link to some more info?

I bit, hope it comes in. I live 10 minutes from woot HQ, I emailed them and asked if I could pick it up on Monday...no response so far.

I've never ordered from this website before. Are they supposed to send you a confirmation email or even send you to a confirmation page? I didn't get either after I filled in all my billing info and said confirmed it.
