Has anyone had experience with CyberPower Gamer machines? The CyberPower Gamer Ultra 7500SE ranked No1 on PcWorld "value" gaming machines. I'm deciding between one of these and the PCClub Nitro Extreme (about the same price). Also, CyberPower offers the 6800GS whereas PcClub offers 6800GT.

Let me know if anyone has any experience with CyberPower.

Thanks
:)

Personally I wouldn't purchase any of their (Cyberpower) products. Two friends of mine bought their laptops about a year ago. I believe they were rebadge Mitacs. A few months ago one of the laptop's screen started to freak out and die. Lets just say talking to support was horrible. In the end the laptop is still broken.. collecting dust.

Anyway... You can check out their reseller ratings here http://www.resellerratings.com/seller6897.html

If you do go with the Cyberpower route, hopefully you don't get Cyberpowerfucked

PC Club let me know that they'll be carrying the 6800GS as an option soon.

matt-

You have three threads now that are addressing some of the same issues...let's keep it to that and not start any more...we'll all try to help you out as best as we can.

Thanks!

;)

Thanks Chris, that's good to know.

It's a bummer they got poor ratings on resellerratings...mostly for customer service and equipment being 'dead on arrival'....as their systems seems pretty good for the price. Hopefully the odds of getting a dud machine is pretty low though. I'll try and find some more opinions on CyberPower.

If anyone else had experience please let me know.

OK sorry about the threads. I tried to keep them different but you know how conversation often goes off at a tangent...

It's no problem man, just trying to keep things in order...it may be better to have all the discussions surrounding your upgrade contained in one thread so it'll be easier to keep track of...

OMG, that is hilarious :p .... I wonder if Webster will pick up on that one anytime soon.... thanks for the laugh!

I am with you on this. I don't have any personsal experiences with this company, but there is way too much complaining about them to take a chance. When I look at their ads, I think... if it seems too good to be true....

Yea, about a year and a half ago I got a gaming computer from them for ~2000$us. It came to me with both of the hard drives off their rails, and the hard drives were broke. I returned it and built my own after that.

I have an uncle who ordered from them, and he was not happy with his experience.

They are not the swifsted bunch out there, so I do not recommend them any more.

~Hope this helps

Just be very very careful in doing business with CyberPower, their website, when ordering, is not 100% truthful. they seem to have a bait and switch going on.

As with anything, talking in person and getting them to send you email or mail, with agreed specifications might help.

The issue of whether or not a vendor is reputable is never a dead topic (unless the company shut down or something a la Monarch). Cyberpower is still open for business and is still attracting customers, and people need to know there are other options.

Aren't ibuypower and CyberPower linked in someway.

I just know ibuypower sucks the big one.

I've bought a PC from cyberpower, worked perfectly, everything was fine, excellent cable management. Although it took them 3 weeks to friggin build then ship, it still ended up a great machine... I pretty much ordered a barebone at the time though.

where do we start...

care to elaborate ? you resurrected an old thread by responding to a poster that has not posted on [H] since January. The least you could do would be to give an explanation of your accusation.

no, but Cyberpower and XtremeGear have the same address.

I had a similar experience with them. I am comfortable building my own systems, but that was not always the case... while it is well documented that cyberpower customer service is lacking, they do offer competitive configurations for a decent price.

I first purchased an Alienware back in 1999, and it's still chugging today with never anything in it ever breaking. (replaced Videocard, that's it)

In 2004 I bought an ABSPC and had multiple issues. 3 days after warranty was up the Motherboard went out. As you might have expected ABSPC was not responsible. Powersupply went soon after. I replace both parts and Videocard and that is what I'm currently using today (see specs).

I have recently been looking for and upgrade. ABS and Alienware are out of my league now, but Cyberpower has caught my eye on price alone. So I'm looking into their reputation as well as CS history.

Hopefully we can get more people on this forum with their experience. Correct me if I'm wrong but their Resellerrating isn't half bad?

Their lifetime rating at RR is a dismal 7.4,not exactly a stellar performance. There are far better builders in the same price range.

It's the 3.72 rating for returns/replacements that's scary. If you have a problem with cyberpower, your 'prolly boned.

Yeah, that's discouraging. Crap. I built my first 2 computers, didn't really work out that well thus the buying prebuilt. Alienware was a great experience, but their prices now are way overpriced.

I need to think this through and research some other companies that make computers. Too bad MonarchPC turn out to be a bust. They seemed promising a couple years ago.

Check out KC-Computers. They might have a pretty bad web site but their ratings are outstanding. Just shoot an e-mail to their sales and Kevin will get back to you in no time.

thanks for the heads up, I did see them on Resellers best of list. I probably give it a month to have them get there website update (seems they are in the middle of doing so) that way I can customize on the fly. Does seem promising though...

Well after I posted this thread almost 2 years ago I went with ABS computers. I've been happy for 18 months but now I'm ready for a new comp.

This time I've decided to go with AVA Direct. Will order my new rig soon!
