well.....i just need a game where i can jump in and kill some people online when i have some free time...any suggestions? i used to play counter strike....but that game always felt a little fishy and too many hackers....

What are your specs? Far Cry is a great fps, BF2 and TF2 are good also.

well i just got a new laptop a while ago...

i got a:
Inspiron 1520, Intel Core 2 Duo T7300, 2.0GHz, 800Mhz, 4M Cache
256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
2GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm

and
High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch display (1680x1050)
- i dont think it matters much...i can always lower resolution

So, you're looking for an online game I take it? Do you just want straight-up action or team-based items?
For action, Quake 4 isn't too bad. UT3 will likely fill the void best, though. For team based, Team Fortress 2 and Quake Wars should work.

Red Orchestra is a great online game but be warned it is more realistic than most online shooters so no bunny hopping. You can download it through Steam. It is well supported by the developers too and they quite often add new maps and stuff.

BF2, UT2004 for the moment are probably the best bet. Easy to get into, point and shoot all you like

TF2 is a good game from what I have heard. I have it but cant play it, due to vista>steam issues. Also you may like, Halo 2, or BF2, BF2142.

UT2k4 for now, for a simple shooter....

thanks for the suggestions......i take it UT is unreal tourney? i never realy lived those games, a little too hectic - keep giving me a headache after a while...

TF2 looks like it would be fun....but i have vista too so ill try to download a demo or something to see if it works...

I saw something about Vista in the most recent patch. Are you still having issues since then? A lot of users on the Steam forum said that it fixed their issues.
