Hey guys, I want to have a few things clarified - to make sure I've set up everything in the case correctly. I just finished connecting all my components and I'm curious about the cooling.

There are 3 x120mm fans, one on front intaking air to the drive cage and beyond, one on the rear also intaking air to the cpu area and finally one on the upper side exhausting air from the video card and all the hot air that rises up.

My HSF is Tuniq Tower, and as most of you know the fan isn't blowing down on the cpu - it is rather blowing sideways. So what I'm concerned or rather curious about is this:

Does the real fan intaking air directly to the Tuniq Tower heatfins, in turn the heat sink's fan is also blowing the air to the same direction - then somehow, it travels up and exhausts better?

OR

Should I change the direction of the rear intake -> exhaust, and also change the direction of the HSF's direction towards the exhaust...

Thanks >_>

Change the rear to an exhaust. Due to the meshy front of the case, it shouldn't matter that you have 2 exhaust fans and only a single intake fan.

I didnt get a chance to try it yet, but isn't the fans placed that way for a reason?
Just wondering why Lian-li placed the fans like that when it does not provide the most optimal airflow..

I'm just having a hard time understanding this.
Well, tonight if I can I'll try to reverse the fans. Will keep you posted.

They Probably did it by mistake. My V2100B++ has the rear as an exhaust along with the side and the front as an intake

i would leave them the same. i cant seem to find the link but as i am buying the same case i was reading that the testers got better temps setup as it came. with the 2 intakes and the side fan the exhaust.

No, it's designed that way so cool air is brought directly to the cpu cooler.

My PC-V1000B came with the rear as an intake, and it continues to blow that way even today :)

Well perhaps I changed it. Irrespective I think it depends on what sort of fan your processor is using whether you want that as an intake or not. If you have a cpu fan that blows across the face as opposed to away from the Mobo then I cant imagine you wanting to blow the air into the case nor blow it through a fan thats going in the other direction.

So yeah, in would be ok but I think it'll largely depend on what sort of cpu cooler you have.

I have a pc-v2000 II w/ a tuniq tower, and what I did was reverse the air flow of the rear fan so it blows out, and reverse the side fan so that it's an intake, and I added a Kama Bay fan to the front as an intake, and so far it's working perfectly, and the kama looks great with the case =)

It'll work either way. Do some experimenting with the rear fan to see which way best suits your configuration (there are a few deciding factors such as motherboard layout, heat sink design, hard drive placement, etc)

I have the rear fan as an intake because I found that worked best, there again my case doesn't have a side fan, (v-1200b Plus) only a side extractor in the form of a blower fan which I don't use due to noise. But yeah, having direct airflow into the cpu 'sink and motherboard components was more important to me. And let's face it, with these cases air isn't exactly going to have a hard time finding a way out...
