G90 series, info and remarks on it

Thanks for correcting me Smigit, it is Supreme Comander, that game is a beast when it comes down to needing power to run it.

As far as Crysis, my "Friend" is a beta tester for it and thats why you will only know him as my friend (for legal reasons I cannot give out any more information that this). Crysis is one hell of a good looking game but I don't think I needed to tell any of you that. All I can tell you is that his dual 8800 system is pushed to the point of it only putting out a max of 38fps at 1440:900 resolution on his 24in Samsung (had to lower it to get more speed out of the game). With this being said, you can be sure that the G90's will be needed in the next generation in gaming because the G80's just won't cut it when they do come out.

If that's true (and I ---very--- much doubt it), then that would suck I'm sure. You do know that 1440x900 is 1280x1024 also basically, that's got to be on the old alpha lol. I don't think the final game will be that intensive, but we'll see.

Beta beta beta.

Unless Crysis is going to break the mold created by every single game, it will have the minimum at a 2 year old PC, average at 1 year old PC, and max at a current/6 month old pc.

Crysis, unless they are in bed with nVidia, and by in bed I mean IN BED, they will not release a game that will require a $200+ graphics card to run. Odds are the beta is the unoptimized version of the code. I bet your friend had to apply to beta test and they made sure he had the best parts available before letting him test it.

Alpha -> fix bugs
Beta -> optimize and fix bugs
RTM -> Patch :D

This reminds me of the leaked doom3 back in 2002 or 2003 that played terribly because it was so buggy.

If people were to be really stiff about it, the you would get nearly 0 posts, especially for the harder-than-normal questions to which only a group of people really know the answers. It's just lazy, have someone tell you the answer directly rather than try and search (like you do via google ---everyday---). All that most people ask here is that you try and search before asking for example, "How much will the G90 cost and will it handle Crysis!?" for the millionth time is all.

Well thankfully there's forums like this where everyone has a say in the matter, anyone can google as you so eloquently put it; but it takes someone with a little more intelligence to have a convo with say 30 or so people at the same time. My point is that in order to get good information, you have to pick anothers brain to get it, sometimes its worth the wait, other times, not so much. The topic was about the G90 cards, info, and remarks on it, somehow it went way off course somewhere.

Ok, thanks for the link, that thing had its last post on 08-31-2005, 12:15 AM so more than 2 years ago they were talking about the G90's, hell the G80's hadn't gotten out then. So SEALTeamSix, thanks for the post but it's WAY out of date. I'm looking for current info, not shit my grandmother looked up back in the stone age.
