Lately I've lost interest in making my computer awesome but my interest for computer game still strong. I'm wondering when will I reach the point where my cpu/ram become a bottle neck for the video card assuming I'm still using my 3000+ and 2gig ram.

My current video card is an Sapphire radeon x850xt PE and I have no plan to upgrade anytime soon as it give me enough power to play just about anything out there to date. Sure not at the maximum eye candy but enough.

Your cpu might be ok for dx10, because theoretically those cards should handle most of the duties that dx9 cards require from the cpu. The swami says your future is... uncertain.

I used to run a 7900gtx and a 3000+ and I still saw a jump in performance form the 7800gtx before it

I think with 2G of memory and the right GPU, your lil 3000+ will be fine.

Strained with other tasks, but fine. I think most of the CPU bottlenecking talk is BS. Is there a point where your CPU will hurt you? Sure! But it'll be when it's hurting everything else too!
