I recently upgraded to a gigabyte ga-n680sli-dq6 board with a q6600, and I wasnt too happy with the temps. I said screw it and ordered some watercooling stuff from jab-tech.

mcr320 w/ 3x scythe fdb 120mm fans
655 pump
apogee gt cpu block
vga block
micro res
7/16's tube and I'm gonna use 1/2" barbs

question is, I have a very tall case and I want to possibly put the radiator, res and the pump near the top, is it OK to have a long drop down to the blocks and back up to the pump? or should I have the pump more towards the middle? I just want to make sure I don't overwork the pump and burn it up.

sorry for the n00b question, this was all purchased on a whim

It's really not a problem if you need to make a longer tubing run. Just make sure your pump is below the micro res.

Exactly. Since the loop is a closed system, you really don't need to worry about tubing lengths going up and down with regard to PC cases. As long as gravity is helping the reservoir to feed your pump, you'll be in good shape.

Your parts list looks great, also.

great. thats what I want to hear :) I did a quick scour of about 10 pages of this forum last night before I bought anything.. tried to get kinda the best of the midrange parts without buying rediculously expensive stuff. I think I did good for a first shot
