I currently building a quad-core rig that I may run on the p6n diamond mobo. I want to put into it 4gb of DDR2 ram that is lowest latency possible for the best ocing potential. I know this is very vague, but i haven't shopped for ram in awhile. Any suggestions?

4x1gb sticks would be prefferable, for the lower latency. And I have a budget of 400-600$

I have that mushkin, it does well. They have higher line model at 8500 speed with low timings if you want to spend more. I did not feel the need to though.

The P35 does very well with 4x1GB. Many people here are using it in 4x1GB setups with PC8500. I'm only overclocking to 1100mhz (550mhz), but it can do more. Another consideration with 4x1GB setup is that it will work your memory controller harder which means more heat for the chipset. Plus the ram will run hotter so you will need some ram cooling.

OK, so 2x2gb. I haven't had mushkin before. Is it decent stuff? I have only ever bought corsair ram, although a friend is reccomending G.Skill.

Any other options in my budget for good overcloking/low latency on the 680i chipset?

edit:

i used this mushkin kit. i liked it ;)

i don't consider 550mhz "very well", but to each his own :D

ah, i need to learn to read. my bad. :D
anything close to 600mhz is outstanding to me, since it beats what my AM2 can do. anything less is lame :p

strange standards, i know

Anybody know of a good 2x2GB solution that will do at least 1000mhz? I want to run at 1:1 which is what I am at now as well.

4x1GB does not work well for me as has happened to me many times with heavy overclock (see sig)

I looked at the egg but all I see is 800mhz solutions and 200mhz may be a lot to ask for...I was thinking more like PC8000 or PC8500 if there is such a thing out at a reasonable price.
