Some jackass(s) broke into my girlfriend's car while we were laughing during The Simpsons movie just hours ago. They stole her laptop bag from the backseat floor behind the driver's seat. It was broad daylight though a bit cloudy and rainy. The theater doesn't have cameras in the front.

-digital camera
-boice recorder
-various peripherals
Her Windows is password-protected with no guest account. I'm not sure if she ever set an admin. password. How safe (from their eyes) is her data should they try to see what's on it? Just figures we're in Ohio. Maybe they were hoping for personal information of thousands of people? I'm assuming they'll likely wipe it and sell it though. She has tons of personal pictures, music, school work, and stuff she's written for work. It's disgusting how horrible people can be. She's absolutely undeserving of this.
Also, is there any way to trace her NIC serial or whatever? We have a home router, but I'm assuming it doesn't store any information about the computers connected to it. Just throwing out ideas.
What can we do?
