Skt 939 X2 4200+ $83.86 base fee

Son of a...! I just bought one of these from EWiz a couple months ago for 120!

man oh man this is tempting. This would be a nice boost from a 3200+

I upgraded from a 3200+ to X2 4200+ a couple months ago. Running apps concurrently makes a very big diff. I posted some stats that I took from a stopwatch doing certain activities. But when HF went down a few weeks ago, I lost that thread. I'll have to make new thread one of these days.

I haven't actually oredered one, but if I get a job today(got an interview at whataburger, lol) I'm gonna see about buying one.

Found the S939 X2 3800+ for $69 shipped at newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103052

And newegg has the S939 X2 4200+ for $87 shipped: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103053

I have a 3800 x2 now would an upgrade to 4200 x2 be that big a difference?
Not that much of a difference probably, would probably pep up a few games or shave a seconds off intensive tasks. Now if you were to overclock your current cpu up to 2.5ghz ~ 2.6ghz that could potentially make a big difference.

Is it worth upgrading from a 3500+ venice or should I wait and see if i can get a fx-55 or 57.(The CPU would be water cooled.)

Depends on the price and what you are going to be doing with it. All I can tell you is that it's better to have it and enjoy it, than just sit around waiting.

Ya, especially at these giveaway prices. Buy now and enjoy

tempting but i think if i have waited this long i can just wait another month to replace my 3200 with a q6600. however this would make for a killer budget rig cpu.
