question regarding dell perc 5/e and RAID 1

I just got a new server and it came with 2 250GB drives. I want to get server 03 on it ASAP, but the Perc 5/e doesn't come until tomorrow.

If I install windows on just one drive, using the non raid controller, can I setup the perc to just clone the drive when I install the raid card?

Don't think so. Bummer, but you'll have to wait until the card comes in to go ahead. :(
 
dell rep said no as well. Just FYI for anyone ever with the same issue.
 
Another interesting thing to mention about the Dell Perc raid adapters...most of them will only support linux and windows server 2003 installations. Kind of unfortunate that the drivers for any other OS are nearly impossible to find.
 
yep, won't work that way. Have to wait on the perc... once it's set up on there, then it will auto-replicate new drives when you put them in, but has to be set up on there first.
