Wouldn't it be neat if the Q6700 came out officially at that price range? It's a guaranteed G0 stepping so I might dump waiting on the Q6600 and just go for this...
That's my new plan for sure

All the intel pricing information I've seen has the Q6700 debuting at $530, replacing the Q6600 at that price point. I'd be shocked to see it debuting much if any lower than that. But I guess we'll know one way or the other in a couple days.At this point I'll almost gurantee you the actual MSRP is $350. There's no way that many stores could afford to offer it that cheap otherwise.
The 10x multiplier over the 9x multiplier theoretically means better overclocking.
Well, if any of these places offering this chip at $350 actually gets it in on Monday (if they didn't get them early) then we should know by early next week whether or not these chips have an MSRP of $350. We'll know because these e-tailers will actually start shipping them or they will change the price to $530 at the last second and try to bait and switch us.
I be they start shipping them out. At first it was so bizzare to see someone selling it for $350 that we all thought it must have been a typo.... I don't see how that's possible since there are atleast 4-5 e-tailers offering it in the $350-365 range...
Well Newegg hasnt listed the E6x50 series yet either. Thats why the Q6700 isn't listed out yet.. because it's a new designation! It's no longer the QX6700, its just Q6700 so wait til Sunday/Monday.
Thats what I'm saying, they are different processors, and hence they aren't on Newegg yet, as none of the new processors (E6x50's) are up either. However, other websites might have them up already...
And $350 for 4+ online sites is hard to be a coincidence imo...
There are 4 stores showing around the 350 price point Man I hope that's really the right price. Would love to get my hands on one!

And of course finally Intel roadmap which has so far been true states Q6700 should be at the $533 price point.
edit: I think the price is really $500+ since I just checked my order and saw it was canceled LOL. Oh well.
I was one of the first to order. I used Google Checkout and saw the status as canceled.

This link shows 6 for under $370 I think
Still on back order but they are now listed @ $559+............
I sure hope you guys get your proc.
Good find jchahn. A couple of the websites say that the estimated availability date is 8-13-07. I think its worth the wait if they deliver.
If I was guessing, I would bet that intel sent this to all of their merchants on July 15th:
http://www.kernelsoftware.com/products/intel.html
which has the q6700 listed at $365.92 .. so merchants who decided to do a pre-order system used that price.. then I would imagine that intel sent out a new price sheet to merchants today with the corrected price... and they all ran around frantically going "HOLY @&*%".
Yeah, but than again, why would the merchants sells them for $350 and lose ~$15 per chip?
MSRP Misprinted Suggested Retail Price
Well, my order is still shown on my account page on CostCentral.. but the q6700 is no longer listed anywhere on their website. Interesting.
Edit: well, I just called, she said the manufacturer's estimated delivery date is August 13, 2007. And my order is still active and on track. My guess is they decided not to do anymore pre-orders and they probably have temporarily removed the item from their website until it actually gets released.
