I'm going to be building a system to be used as a file server and router, but I'm not sure exactly how to make it do both  I know I could use SmoothWall to make a firewall/router, and I also know I could use NASLite-2 to make a file server, but I haven't found anything that can do both. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

P.S. Specs will be:
SuperMicro H8DCi-O eATX Mobo
2x AMD Opteron 244 1.8Ghz CPU's
2x512MB Buffalo PC3200 ECC RAM
4x250GB Western Digital SATAII HD's
nVidia 6200LE

Thanks for the tip, I'm checking out ClarkConnect and it does seem to do everything that I was looking for and it even has multiprocessor support which is excellent. Unfortunately it appears that nothing can touch NASLite when it comes to raw file server throughput :(

Build it from scratch. Pick a linux/bsd and run with it.

And that's a waste of a machine to use as a file server and router.

Thanks for the advice, I think this is what I'm going to do. I'm planning on installing Gentoo and I'm bumping the memory up to 4x1GB PC3200 so I can use it as an on-campus game server / file server.
