oos and it isn't a bad drive. Rarely use it but when I do it's not bad!
 
Just bought the non-sata Samsung off newegg last night! Doh!

This afternoon, 12pm-ish I saw this post which had no replies at the time, bought the drive, but had to get back to work, didn't have time to reply until I got home from work :)

Your link is a DVDROM/CDRW combo - doesn't burn DVDs.... Good thing you went with another ODD.

Oh - that explains why my glasses were so dirty that I had to install 2 tiny window wipers on it.

Anyone know how quiet this thing is? I just finished repairing my NEC 3550A; was looking to get a Pioneer SATA burner when I had the money.

Then again, if only a videocard upgrade wasn't first in line, I'd probably jump on this just to see IDE cables disappear forever from my case. MWHAHAHAH!
 
Very few are actually truly quiet. Every Samsung that I have bought has been decent. This one included. Not super Silent when burning but not so bad as most.
