Arctic cooling freezer 7 $21.75 + FS @ eWiz

This was a great deal but they have now removed the free shipping offer :( I would love to get one at that kind of price if anyone else has a link.

It still says free shipping for me...I got one of these a few months back and I'm very happy with it. I paid about $30 with shipping. I use it with my e6400@3gig and running orthos doesn't scare me like it did with the stock Intel cooler. I have really liked all the stuff I've gotten from Arctic Cooling(acelleroX2/120mm case fan/Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro). Their stuff is priced good, quiet and all the stuff i got came with a 6 year warranty. http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?p=1031255321#post1031255321

This is a very good cooler; mine worked better than a Zalman 9700NT.

Im thinking about trying it as well. The Tuniq is just so damned big and for the size it is Im just not happy with the results.

Quick FYI: the Freezer 64 Pro is the same price with free shipping, also @eWiz, for those running AMD systems.

Cool...I have one of these on my C2D and my X2 system. I needed another 64 pro.

They had removed the free shipping earlier, but free shipping is back now. So hurry.

Well, the link is still a good one.. They have a sale on the freezer 7 every couple weeks. If you buy this cooler, this link is worth looking at every now and then.

OTOH, newegg open box had them for $10, free shipping tonight. No point in a link because I think I might have gotten them all.

how does it compare to the SUNBEAM and the stock intel cooler for the q6600?

If you're not familiar with this cooler, it's just a great product. You can put it on without taking out the mb, it's pretty cheap (really you have to got to dual fans or about 50 bucks to beat it) it's pretty quiet, fairly light and not too tall.

Just an example today: I had a guy with a prescott 3.8 and a zalman (not sure what model downfacing cooler). He had probs locking up etc and bios said his idle at boot was 145 deg! and the mount looked ok. Mostly used for drafting.

I had a freezer 7 with me and put it on and the temp at the same point was 115. You gotta love that.

Ooops. Sorry, I didn't see you were asking about using it on a quad core. I never did so I can't give you any info about that. But actually I'd like to know. I just bought some for $10 per so if you will pay me that plus whatever shipping you want, I'll send you one if you tell me:

-mb model and chipset
-temp in bios after 20 min stock vs AC
-temp at default speed after 1 or 2 hours of orthos or whatever to heat it up.
-best oc compared to stock at, say, .05-.1 core boost, but same vC used in both cases

Actually, that's enough work so that I'll send you one for $10 flat if you'll tell me that info.

I currently have the p4 3.0, but im buying a q6600 when the prices get cut so i was going to buy the freezer now if its better than my sunbeam/stock intel cooler. So when i do get it, i will PM you.

LOL. Well, it's not an open ended offer. I'm interested to know those results now, I probably will all ready know them in a couple weeks. Lemme know when you're ready and we'll see if I'm still in the dark about it then...

My idle went down about 5C but the big load temps on an E4300 @ 2.4 went down at about 10C over the stock cooler. I don't have the fan up all the way (max 80%) because then it gets too loud for the rest of my system. :)

I don't have it OC'd at the moment, though, because it's summer. I figure it's hot enough (here in Texas) already in my room without introducing more heat into the system.
