Maxtor 500GB 3.5" SATA II $89.99 shipped + tax

You really should provide a link or specify what store has this deal. Also this might be a repost if you're refering to the Fry's ad.

Clearly he IS referring to the Fry's ad when his link is going to outpost.
And also he clearly knows its a repost when he admits it is a repost in the OP.

So that begs the question, Why is this thread here?

Yup, just received my drive via DHL. It's a 500GB Maxtor STM3500630AS DiamondMax 21, Series 3.5, 7200.10, with a 3-year warranty. Basically, it's a Maxtor-labeled Seagate ST3500630AS, with four 125GB platters. Yes, it's Perpendicular Recording, Bay-Bee!

Funny, the box says it's a Maxtor L01F500 kit. NOT!

Basically what he said, They're retail boxes and come with SATA and Sata-Molex cables... "Installation CD" 3 year warranty... 7200.10... 16mb cache... Seagate labeled as Maxtor...

I'm happy, I snagged 2 and just sorta hoped they'd be seagates :)

I'm in for one. I've had trouble checking out with Frys in the past, but I now noticed the "standard server" button at the bottom that solved all my problems. Thanks op!

I bought 2. TY and I really hope they are seagates... only reason I bit.

Blaze...was that one you picked up off of this sale or did you get it in store?

Ya, just got mine via DHL this afternoon, the above post is spot on! 7200.10 seagate!! :D :D

With a 3 year warranty!

Ordered it online, I'm not allowed at the location in Renton... lol... not anything illegal but they don't really like me... :(

Yep, got mine today. The DHL dude didn't knowck on the door or ring the bell at all. I didn't know it was here until I brought my dog out in the afternoon with the 90+ degree teamperature.:(

Almost considering ordering one more but I figure by the time I need the storage prices will have come down on 750 and terabyte drives :D

$89 is pretty hot. For $109 you can get a "real" Seagate 7200.10 with the 5 year warranty. I'd do the Maxtors for $89, but not at $109.

I was able to get some, but I need more. Hopefully I can get some other 500GB drives at this same price before the month is over.

Newegg has some at $99. $10 more, but they should be in stock.

True, not a bad deal, but the cost of shipping will factor in as well. The Fry's deal was for retail, Newegg's price is for OEM. They're currently out of stock, in case anyone was curious, but I'm sure they'll be back pretty soon.

I'm gonna wait it out.

that didn't take long. I see them as in stock.

edit. nm.. not in my cart anymore. :(

Dangit... I literally just bought an Adaptec 2610SA for my VMWare server and was going to pick up three of these Maxtor drives to run in RAID 5 and they're sold out. :(

True. If you catch Fry's on sale, it's one of the better deals on the internet, that's for sure. Too bad a lot of their specials are B&M only  .

if u can get to a fry's b&m they have stacks of them for 99.99. the price is probably good until thursday night cus the new b&m on sale flyers always come out friday.
