Cliffy B is demoing GoW at the MS E3 conference. 5 new SP chapters, new acheivements, and new online modes. Gamespot has a link to a live feed. Cliffy said it's going to be for both XP and Vista so none of that Vista only crap. Doesn't appear that it'll have cross platform online play.

hmm hopefully they'll flesh out the "story" (and I use the term loosely) a little bit. That game had potential to be more than male stereotypes shooting stuff in the future, but I guess that's what sells :p

It is rather funny considering the image that was leaked some days ago and all the non believers :p

I guess its cool... never even saw it being played "live" so I guess its a good chance to see on my PC what the fuzz is all about.

My son has it for the 360. I've played it a few times but just can't convert myself over to a controller rather than keyboard/mouse so I'll be picking this up for the PC for sure!

Looking forward to it.

Thanks for the heads up. :)

It better have Co-op(the 360 version does have it right). I was pissed because Halo and Halo 2 PC didn't have it.

They said it would have Co-op via Windows Games Live!

I thought it was funny their demo they were playing was clearly on an Xbox 360/ using an Xbox 360 controller on a PC.

Should be interesting.

So will we be charged to play Gears online for the PC? I'm still a little unsure on all of this Live stuff.

No you do not need to pay to play. At least that is the case with the other online Live game.

I would've liked to see a kb+m demo, but whatever.. I'm happy about the announcement.

The pc version is going to include 5 new single player chapters......I just finished watching Microsoft's Conference on G4

I'm pretty sure PC to PC play is free. If you want to play with other Xbox 360 gamers then you have to have the PC equivalent of the Gold Account on the 360. If you already have an Xbox Live gold account, on the 360, it transfers right over to Live for Windows, with no additional fees.

Anyway, I don't know if I'll get the PC version. As of now I doubt my PC will run it, and if there is the slightest chance of the 5 new missions coming to the Live Marketplace, I'd just go ahead and do that, since I already have the game, and have finished it twice (on the first two difficulties). Either way it's a great game, so PC gamers should be happy.

Bad news for us console players, we put in all this time, and honestly, at least for myself have become fairly good, only to be crushed be a computer. I will be VERY interested to see how the PCer's handle the awful lag that exists in nearly every game...should be interesting to see how it all plays out!

I'd be surprised if that was a problem. With the PC version you're probably going to see a lot of dedicated servers, and not just people hosting games via their the system they're currently playing on, and in many cases, on connections not suitable for hosting a server.

That is a very good point you bring up, but will that transfer to the 360, aka, will the 360's be able to enter that dedicated server that a computer is hosting on and play, what I would assume to be a lag-free game, or will the 360 not be able to access those servers?

I'm not sure. Doesn't Shadowrun allow for cross platform play, between the 360 and the PC? I would assume that if there was a PC dedicated server, running Shadowrun, a 360 gamer could hop on and have a good experience. I don't know if Gears of War will be the same way (If I'm correct on Shadowrun that is).

theyll probably pull the same aiming BS they did with Shadowrun. To make it "equal"

I don't like gimped controls/aiming either, but they have to do something to balance it.. Otherwise the 360 controller users will get pissed at the constant ownage... Especially the 12 year olds that think they are uber leet... Do you really want to hear them whine and curse over voice chat??
I might pick up GOW pc when it gets below the $30 mark, if it turns out that it was properly ported.. Seemed a good game..

According to the slashdot news post, it does, but the link they provide doesn't say anything about it. I would assume it does, but I could be wrong.

from what was said, i do not think there will be cross platform play at all. and honestly, I don't want their to be...

I don't think Epic Games is that stupid. They know what we want.

WOW sweet seeing as this game looked great before, now we can play it with af and higher aa! (salviates)

The PC version Looks even better than the xbox360 version, and yes the game will support games for windows live. Im sure however that is optional and will also have a in game server browser but it hasnt been mentioned.

This game should be bad ass, i wonder if they will throw in DX10... I hope they do and do it right..

Damn there is a lot of sweet games coming to the PC this year.

This is definitely sitting right next to Crysis on my buy list.
Can't wait.

Mouse delay, inaccuracy, etc. I don't think Epic would do any of that though.

This is why cross platform sucks.

Let console players stick with their crappy servers, crappy controlers and play.

Let PC gamers keep their good servers, good controls, and don't screw it up for them so some 12 year old idiots can spam up our games.
