The BBC is preparing to move their on-demand content system into Beta very soon. Initially users will be able to snag the shows of their choice via peer-to-peer, but will be able to stream as well when the service goes into full force sometime this autumn.

iPlayer will allow users to download programmes up to seven days after transmission and those shows can then be viewed for up to 30 days before being deleted. The service will include 400 hours of BBC programming per month.

For me, the end is near for broadcast/cable TV. BBC and NetFlix (both delivery and WatchNow) will give me all I need....legally. Can't say I'll miss those adverts.

Dubmfucks should have done it sooner.

I will still use torrents.
