I want to be able to send my keyboard input to more than one program at a time running on my Vista setup. Is this possible and how? If it is not possible, what is preventing it?

Atleast mention exactly what you are trying to do so if there is a way someone can help. I couldn't think of any uses like what you described but most windows are selected and you usually only have one text area where your cursor is focused. That is what I would guess.

I think he means something such as (only an example): being able to type to two different people (two chat windows) at the same time.

I don't know of a way, but I'd be interested in one...

Yeah.. two focused windows accepting input. It would be great. Lets say I had two instances of calculator up. I'd want to type and have the input go to both applications. I hope someone knows of something... else I might have to think of a way of programming it for me and everyone else whom want something like this.

A much better example than mine.

If you make I'm so mooching that off of you :)

This idea intrigues me, although it is hard to say how actually useful it would be. I dont know if such a program exists, so i am just speculating on how to create it but heres my thoughts: I know ive looked into how to access other windows/processes using c#, and i think its possible to access them if you know their process names or something. I think i was able to change the text in an aim window or something but I didnt get anything conclusive working and eventually forgot about it entirely... What I mean to say is i think this should be possible to do with determination :p
