Scythe's new CPU cooler

And I thought the CM heatsink was stupid.

Haven't people broken their motherboards with the tuniq tower? How the hell are any boards supposed to hold this thing?

I think if you need that kind of cooling, you should grab a water pump, radiator, a 120mm fan, tubing, and a water block and get to it.

This thing would be so complicated to install! Cords could get in the way, no big NB cooling, it would have to clear the graphic card (it looks that big at least), no aftermarket graphic card cooling with heat pipes that go over the side, secure mounting so nothing gets broken, a massive case, ect. Id like to see the performance reviews because Im thinking it would cool every last thing in the pc.

Scythe needs to wait on this and hurry up on the mini ninja! I want to finish my htpc.

WOW that really IS big. dang. I wonder if that would fit in my Lian-Li A05....

I'd definitely skip the fan though.

that looks promising.

Thermalright too, huh? At least heatsink makers have been trying to come up with innovative designs recently. Maybe some new stuff will make air cooling interesting.

On a side not, do you think the Silenator will allow you to overclock to Govenator proportions? Nah probably not, itll whisper "Asta La Vista" as the cpu dies a firey death

MY DEAR GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THINK OF THE GRAPHIC CARDS, JUST THINK OF THE GRAPHIC CARDS!

*goes to cry very loud in a corner*

This cooler may have a lot of potential after you get a case to fit it in as well as having some space left for the mighty GPU's!!!! :D

Save youself some space and go with water cooling.

It looks like the Thermalright monster pictured by silent-circuit is actually the side panel of the case. If this is the case, then a GPU would simply go in like normal... maybe. I wonder if a specific motherboard is required so that the base lines up with the socket.

At any rate, I don't think that Scythe's product is the actual side of the case, though it is mostly likely bolted to the case at some point.

Oh, and I dread the dust that would get stuck in either one of these beasts. I'd need a beefier air compressor for when it came time to dust out my computer.

I would hope something that large could cool the computer well... and the video card... and the north bridge... and the south bridge... all at once.

Yeah why would anyone bother with that. Im sure its expensive. Big as hell. Probably wont fit in very many cases lol... Most likely the heat isnt going to be able to travel that far either..... Id go water before using that.

That Thermalright heatsink is probably the side panel from the heatsink case they were demoing. The entire case is basically a big heatsink, so no fans are needed.

Well then that makes the product a bit less retarded. Though I don't know how well that would actually do depending on how good the contact was between the side panel/heat sink and the CPU's heat spreader.

You know those guys who buy the Ultra cards the first week they come out... I think it all has to do with not thinking it through, and automatically going for biggest is best.

"Look ma, you can't see my computer because there's a f'n heatsink in the way!"

And the Silentator.... damn I had to scroll down 3 times to check the name... Silenator, Siletator.... I think that's a ripoff of the Sherminator. Very.... very badly ripped off. Which was just a ripoff of the Terminator.... this name is getting worse and worse.

My eyes locked on to the tator part and I immediately thought of Mr. Potato Head.

What a waste of money for time and research on a product. I bet my fridge radiator and fan would do just as sufficiently. :D
