What do you think would be better for a C2Q 6600 & eVGA 680i board?

Crucial Ballistix/Tracer 1066 2 x 1gb Kit or Corsair Dominator 1066 2 x 1gb Kit?

They are both price about the same after rebate.

I'm sort of tempted to get 4gb worth with the prices being so low right now.

I'd get the former. This is only because i know they use D9GMH ICs (i believe); the Dominators might, too, but i'm not sure. Plus, the Tracers have flashing lights which basically over rides any advantage the Dominators have over them!

Both Kits uses D9GMH and both are great for the money,,, but personally I will choose the Crucial for slightly better OverClocking ability

Plus Crucial's RMA service is second to none. I always buy Crucial just for that.

Thanks for the replies. Are the Crucial Balistix 1066 the same as the Tracer 1066 minus the LED's? They are about $20 cheaper.

I have never used the Crucial memory with a 680i board, but I can say that the Dominator will work for sure, and work well. There is something to be said for that. Perhaps someone with experience using both modules will hopefully chime in.

Crucial = Micron, so why not cut out the middle man? :D

My Ballistix DDR2-6400 2x1GB sticks clocks up to 1200 MHz 5-5-5-15 2T memtest 24 hours stable @ 2.3V

I totally agree.... I have a set of Ballistix 8500 and a set of Firestix 8000 coming and the Firestix has to be something very special for me to keep them instead of the ballistix..... OCZ is way up there too.....

I might as well mention the Asus is at the very bottom of the list when it comes to customer service....
