I have been looking to get some dedicated speakers for my PC since I'll be moving in two weeks and my PC will no longer be hooked up to my stereo then.

I will use these for gaming mostly, maybe some light moviewatching if I'm too lazy to go into my livingroom and that's about it.

The thing is, I don't really want to deal with a 2.1 system or more because I don't want the subwoofer around. Now the only 2.0 system I have found so far that seems to fit my needs are the Creative Gigaworks T20.

Any one have any experience with these? Anything in the same pricerange I should be looking at?

The Swans look nice but they are quite a bit more costly than I would like them to be. The Bose units are more in line price-wise, I'll do a little searching og those and see how they stack up...

Just to warn you, BOSE is usually not liked by those into audio. I remember auditioning a small 2.1 Bose system alongside Klipsch Promedia 2.1, and Klipsch won. It was in a store, through a switch feeding many speaker sets, so take it for what it's worth.

I use two axiom M3Ti's hooked to a panasonic XR-55. Best 2.0 pc speakers I've ever had :D I'm getting another pair pretty soon for 4.0.

damn. these are the most expensive 2.0 speakers i've ever seen.

i normally buy cheap ass $15 speakers for 2.0 sets. haha

I got a couple Insignia bookshelves and an old stero amplifier and this thing kicks. They actually make pretty decent near-field speakers.

Actually I agree. Insignia is a BestBuy brand, and their speakers are usually pretty good for the price. They have a 2.1 system for $50 that's decent.

Ditto.

The speakers in question are these ones: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7705307&type=product&id=1138085354138

Good review here (although there are a lot on the web): http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/insignia_ns_b-2111_review/

The reason they're so good? They weren't originally designed for Best Buy, but actually for Radiient Audio. http://www.radiient.com/Europa-SACD-Capable-Bookshelf-Loudspeakers?sc=2&category=6
Look familiar? Yes, they lack the additional tweeter, but the cabinet design and woofer are the same.

They go on sale for $40/pair, and even at the regular price of $70/pair, they are a steal.

I have the same as killernoodle, except I use the XR-55, which has very very good clarity, detail retrieval, and speed (at least to my ears). There was a huge thread at avsforum about it which got me into trying out a pair, and needless to say, I'm not getting another speaker amp for a while.
