Well, I've been looking into getting a new case for sometime, I'm starting to get tired of the fact that my HDD's are sitting on the bottom of my P180B where the cage should be. There has been complications and for now I have to leave them there.

Tell me how you guys think this will look. I am going ALL OUT, everything I can do to make this thing look PIMPED :D .

(System Specs are in sig)

Anyways, I'm thinking I'm going to pick up a Tt Armor VA8003BWS

And for inside:

So? What do you guys think? I'm considering and welcoming any and all suggestions! I'm so tired of my boring P180B. It looks like a fridge.

How about a rating on a scale from 1 to 10, ten being really sweet setup, 1 being terrible? As of now, I give the rig a 9/10, simply cuz I don't know if all the colors will match!

Thanks in advance,

~FIDDY

personally I hate the riced out cases with lights.
and that grill....looks good in a pic, but i have one and its uglier in person. unless your looking dead on, its fugly.

Way too many lights and plastic inverter boxes. Get something slick like one of the lian li v1000 (?) cases and put a couple of cathodes behind the mesh on the sides and more inside for the window. Lights are better when done minimally. They make that same grill without those little holes in it that looks ok. Still looks like cheap metal from an angle but matte black spraypaint helped mine.

toss on a big type R sticker and your good to go. Remember to wear a yellow tracksuit, jell your hair and always, ALWAYS carry a glowstick.

Hey, this case isn't supposed to look Slick! It's going to be hard core burn your retinas wear sun glasses pwnage. But thanks for the advice, I'll consider it :) . I can understand where you come from, since my whole reason for buying the P180B was because it wasn't flashy, which is why I regret buying it. But now I am so tired of the P180B I want my rig to shine like the mid-day sun!

Haha, roger that. That post made me chuckle.

Anyone have suggestions for a good, non-expensive CCFL / Fan bus? (Controller)

sunbeam rheobus - 14$ @ jabtech.

please reconsider the sticker. Go hitup an airbrush artist and see how much to get your panels painted if you want something cool. They could mask most of it off and spray your design on a small portion even for a reasonable price.

what about something other than the reds, blues and pinks you see?

all orange w/ green accents? all orange would look good in a black case.

Get a sound activated light thingamajing. Thats flashy. Since you have a window also go see if there is some place you can order a mini disco ball (http://www.bcheap.com/minidiscoball.html) and get one of those single white led lights and point it at the disco ball. Hang disco ball of the edge of psu or the top of case.

If you have a usb port on the inside you could always plug on of these in http://www.usbgeek.com/prod_detail.php?prod_id=0568.
edit: you don't need port on inside as you can always just plug the cable in and point it at the leds to program it. doesn't have to be plugged in.

Hey man, I love those ideas. I'm definally going to pick up that USB banner! That thing is SICK.

Thanks for all the advice guys, anymore is welcomed.

Using UV and Visible light together can either be on different sides of the case or with a barrier in between, I don't think it will work well in the same area.

Offtrack:
Also, Fiddy did/do you play world of warcraft? I knew someone back in the day that had a personality like you and was called fiddy.

Get a Beer neon light for your room, and dont ugly up your case. I used to think lights were all cool, but whats the point whos going to see it unless you post it on the net or you staring at it when your bored thinking wow...pretty lights.

SICK!

You guys are missing the point! This is a lan-rig...I mean this thing has got to be SICK.

a LAN rig? i would rather make it small if thats the case....i dunno bout you but i'd get tired of lugging around some big ass case and LCD. Lian-Li PCA05B FTW

i think yr getting 2 many Cold Cathode. i have the same case its very nice. as som1 sayd those fan grills dont look very nice. i recommend u buy regular fan grills.

Well my plan is this:

If I'm feeling like I want a low-down UV effect, I turn off or down the blue CCFL's.

If I'm feeling like I want a little bit more flashy effect, I can turn off the UV and turn on the Sound activated CCFL's, along with the blue CCFL's.

Anymore ideas?

Are you nuts? You're getting an 8003BWS and it's for a LAN rig? I have one and it's a heavy son of a bitch...Granted I have a 2x120 water setup in mine as well, but even w/out it I would NOT want to be transporting it to and from LANs.

I have to agree with the lighting choices - bad. Not for the lighting itself, but there seems to be no real 'gameplan' here - you just seem to want to blind the other LAN goers. Perhaps you should spend more time honing your fragging skills than doing this :p.

Too many colors, I would just go with 1 dual UV set and a maybe a dual set of *1* other color - maybe some lighted fans (same color) if you still need some more light. I think the included blue fans look just fine with this case (lighted Yate Loons for the bang/buck replacements @ ~$5/ea) - but then again almost anything goes well w/ black.

What you're doing is fucking up a perfectly nice case. And sound activated CCFLs are stupid (IMO)... And those inverter boxes on most (if not all) of those CCFL fans/tubes suck too, you're just asking for a fire with that many.

ps I thought there was a no bandwidth leeching rule? Ie: don't rip from Newegg and XPCgear and upload them to imageshack.

[edit] There is - see: #14.

And sorry if I sound like a dick. I just think you're going about this the wrong way. I understand your wanting to be noticed @ a LAN, but IMO with a setup like this you're more likely to end up like the smelly homeless guy on the bus - no one will want to be near you. The only people that will dig the sun bright multi-color bling with at least 5 different light sources & 4 different colors will be the pre-teens with more (of the parents) money than sense. IMO, you're far better off going subtle - if you really wanted flash to begin with you should go with one of those ricer Batman/Spiderman/whatever crap cases. The Armor deserves better.

Try to stick with one color of light, and don't overdo it. You might put someone's eye out.

me likey the top one...just has cleaner lines i think. but i'm partial to my lian-li right now lol

You are dead inside, if I wanted a flame I would've asked. (I don't see a request for that in my original post).

The quoted opinion above is one that I will ignore, I expect constructive criticism.

Thanks to all the mature people who had the self control not to flame me because you don't like my ideas, I appreciate all the advice you guys have given me.

Can you guys name particular parts that you would suggest as far as fans and/or lights, or maybe color schemes I should use?

Thanks again,
~FIDS

Yeah, but it's contained so I am not too worried about that, though I will take that into consideration.

Anyone have any experience with this black material:

http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u165/deviltrigger529/100_3090.jpg

Made by Akasa, so it's Eu, so I may have to import it...But to those of you have it and/or use it would you recommend it?

BTW thanks for that link Xnikx, now I have a good idea of what kind of color scheme I want...

about the fire stuff fiddy, someone here mentioned these aluminium inverters that wouldn't melt in your case. Price for kits is reasonable.

Don't bother with any Akasa or sound absorption mats for anything other than looks.

Craft foam from michaels looks just as nice, and costs about 900% less.

I'll be looking into those, thanks man. :)

Oh really? Wow...glad you told me that. How much is the Akasa stuff as apposed to craft foam?
