I had an old computer case that I decided to paint black, so I took it apart and was spray painting the pieces. When a gust of wind blew the plastic front down and into some leaves, the finish is ruined, how can I remove the ruined paint job to start fresh? (already tried sanding, the paint is stuck too good.) The case has/ had a smooth front that looked great before it was blown over by the wind.

General Murphy, YOU SUCK!!!!

There is no such thing as paint that is "stuck too good" to be sanded off.

Patience and elbow grease is what it will take..... now go get busy;)

Wow. I was spray painting my case recently as well in the garage with the door open. It was probably the dumbest idea ever because as it was drying, some grass shavings blew on the panels and now they're pretty much stuck. I was able to wash most of it off, but I had to sand down a lot of the paint and reapply. When I reapplied the paint reacted with the dry paint somehow and it ate all the way through to the metal finish. Moral of the story if your a noob (like me!), don't paint your case.

30 min in the oven at 300 or a hair dryer can speed things up.

220g sandpaper.

Wait a few days though, if the paint's wet, it won't sand off.
That was part of the problem, today though I can take my finger nail and scrape all the way through the paint, primer back to the plastic. However I may be able to score an Identical case front, in which case, I can start over.
